Future G37 Owners

I just returned from my second test drive this afternoon. my car is on order but am still struggling a lot with the color. I am now debating between the silver (liquid platinum) and platinum graphite... we will see.

anyways, I am very excited about the car and feel it is a great purchase for the money vs. the 335i. I do have a few items I like about the 335i and was very close to purchasing it, but overall, it was just too plain looking/similiar to so many other BMW's on the road that I couldn't pull the trigger. the new G37 is stunning in person and will definately have a unique look. given some tweaks, the performance will be outstanding as well.

This may not be the best place to post my questions. If mods feel that it should go somewhere else, please let me know. So here goes...

I'm planning on getting this G37, but would like to know when is the best time to do so, now or perhaps wait for one of those holiday sales, seeing as Thanksgiving/Xmas/New Years is around the corner. But then, as I read through this thread, Yimbie seems to suggest that getting it before or NOW would be the better way to go, to save money on this tiger. What should I do?

Also, I'm from LA, and would like to get everyones opinion on where would be the best place to go to purchase this baby. Dealerships are a pain to deal with.

And to be a bit on topic, if/when I purchase the G, I'll most likely go with the following:

Athens Blue or Platinum Graphite exteriorGraphite interior

which brings to mind another question: what sounds do they carry on the journey without the premium package? are they still Boss with less speakers? I would want the sports package with navi, but unfortunately, navi only comes with premium package

My car is suppose to be in, the first week in September. The shipping status of the car before the earthquake hit Japan, was that it was already on the boat coming over from Japan. If you were suppose to recieve your car in August I don't think that your car would have been affected by the earthquake at all. It would have been shipped out prior to mine.

I ordered my G37 1 May 07, was the second one to order. I have been told to expect my car around the end of Aug. They already have a vin # for my car so I can almost feel it. I went to the party on the 16th and they had a car identical to what I have on order except for the interior. I didn't go for a test drive. I never have test driven a car before I bought it. Just my thing. I know what I want and my old 03 G35 has been a pleasure to drive. I will let you know when I get the car and take it out for a drive back in the hills where I can see just how good it performs.

I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and it's scheduled for delivery August 31. Guess I must have jumped on one that someone gave up recently.

I've placed my order for the Amethyst Graphite 6 spd/Premium. I was given the VIN# and I'm waiting to get the call like everyone else to come and get the car.

It feels likes the call will never come!!! I'm happy to see that some people have received there car and is happy with it. I'm tempted to go the dealer every day test drive the G37S car until mine comes in.

You know what funny is calling the insurance company and them not knowing what to say because the car isn't in there system yet!

Dealer said it would be here in Oregon around January. Dealer couldn't find any Amethyst in local region. It's going to be a long Holiday season. I guess there are worst ways to ring the new year.
