In the next few months I'll be getting a 2010 maxima with about 30-35k, what are the common problems with the 7th gen Maxima?

It should be a relatively low-maintenance vehicle. The VQ3.5L engine is a tried-and-true piece of engineering (it's been around since 2002).

As long as the maintenance has been done, it should last you quite a while (barring any unknown circumstances).

The exterior and interior are really beautiful. My only personal knock on it, is that it only comes with the CVT.

Thanks for the response, I'm kind of getting used to the cvt on my sentra just needs more power. But the design is really beautiful.

The 7th gens are beautiful cars. I would strictly use Nissan recommended CVT fluid in that car. Here's a link to a Rogue article about following the CVT fluid recommendations below..
