Hey guys, long time no see.

Image

One of my friends that co-started Futura Design Brakes is looking for an Altima application or wanted to know if any other cars' BBK's would fit ours. I would step up since I'm located near him but cash is low right now. New wheels on the way! So let me know if any of you would be interested in being a part of something new or would like to help contribute.

Here is their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Futura-De ... 8191089780

It's great hearing the positive reception. I'd probably go with the yellow / gold myself. Company's based out of good ol' DFW. I'll be showing him this thread and after he lets me know something, I'll relay it to you guys via pm.

They're just looking to target our market with either a new or existing application of their BBKs.

Not necessarily. It really boils down to the caliper width and spoke design+offset, until you get into the really big rotor sizes which will then force you up into a larger barrel rim. The base 370z's w/18's (18x8 +42) are able to fit the 'big-boned' 14" sport Akebono bbks, and according to Stillen's website - the 14.2" AP Racing bbks, which have a slightly thinner caliper width vs. the Akebono's according to both of their templates.

On a side note, these look like the Taiwanese kits that I see popping up here and there, just with a logo added. Not saying they're good or bad, just sayin'.

Lemme know how it goes. Haven't ordered my new brake stuff yet, and the squeaking is intermittent. Not sure I need a brake job.

In other news:
I'm going to hit 99000 mi tomorrow or Friday.

According to Futura, "If we can get 5 committed sets purchased, we will pursue the R&D for a new application for Altima coupe."

So now they are just trying to sell product that they dont have?
First develop a product, then ask if we want to to buy lol.

I'll ask and see what's going on. I actually copied that from a post directed at one of our fellow members. They're looking at 2 options: 1) R&D and 2)Cross application. They're probably leaning more towards the second. I've hinted at them borrowing my car to test fit other applications but I don't know if they're getting it. If we can test fit on my car then things can get moving or they can start researching and developing.

To be honest, I don't know what exactly they meant by "committed sets purchased".

Stop what you've been smoking...I'm running a BBK and I'm on 18's yo! :chuckle:

AlexM... This smells like a freakin group buy thread..where the "company" employs their friends to do their marketing. Have your buddy do their due diligence and have them do their own research...

Have them contact AZHitman if they want to sell their products on NICO... or I lock and move this thread :tisk:

He didn't ask me to make a thread. He just asked if any of my Altima friends would be interested. But okay, I'll tell him to contact AZ

Hey Grandpa calm down not all of us got free BBK's lol. Also hes not setting up anything but interest.

I'll be sending them a proposal after this weekends show. They seem interested, but it would help if we all contacted them to show the interest is there.

None the less, a company that is worth their while will do their own R&D and not ask their friends to see if their is an interest... I've had this discussion time and time again with AZHitman and he explained to me why NICO policies prohibits info gathering such as this. We can take this off line if you want...just shoot me a PM :bigthumb:

Hey Matt..an interest thread is prohibited by NICO rules which you agreed to when you became a member. If a paying vendor opens a thread that is OK,...but if a member starts an interest threads on behalf of another company that he has no affiliation with, then there lies the problem. Put it this way...You're a vendor here on NICO and you paid NICO to be one so you can advertise your products and services here. How would you feel if a member came on here and started to advertise for an outside company who is NOT a paying vendor on NICO and started getting business that you should be getting... Yeah...Think about that for awhile college boy and tell me where the financial dilemma lies :poke:
