While replacing fuse to lighter I noticed a green wire with a brass tab plugged into the same spot as the fuse. Is it a ground? I had to leave unplugged to get the fuse in. Any one know what this wire is?

Doesn't sound stock, any aftermarket electronics on the car?

Its a fuse tap. If there isn't anything aftermarket in there now, there was at one point. Just take the fuse out and remove it from the fuse blade and throw it away, you don't need it.

Thanks, this car once had a phone in it, maybe thats what it went to. The fuse tap makes sense the car seems to work fine without it.

Probably what it was, make sure the fuse isn't loose in there, those taps will do that sometimes.

I'm trying to hook up a GPS but neither 12V socket works. I found a 10 fuse blown and replaced it. What kind of fuse did you use to replace the one for the lighter? Should the fuse box be loaded with 10s because thats almost all that is in there. The fuse pannel instruction layout looks nothing like the fuse box. Any recommendations?
