Fuse?!

Hey guys

While I was yesterday trying to put my phone charger in the place where the cigarette lighter is, the thing sparked (A HUGE SPARK)!!

and now the cigarette lighter isn't working, and the charger under the armrest isn't working either

I also noticed that the cigarette lighter feels loose, I don't know if that's how it was before...

Check the fuses first my man
And maybe a volt meter to check the voltage

Is it an aftermarket charger? I've used chargers that blown circuits at home even though I've used it for a year. Just because knock off brands are cheaper, doesn't always mean they are reliable as the actual product.

Your car has a cigarette lighter? Or you are just referring to the 12V socket as one? I want a cigarette lighter...

Like Irvxing said check the fuses first. But if it loose I bet something else is going on behind the connection. Pics?

Maybe all the ones you've seen were 2010+?!
and I just have the BOSE device which has a CD player and the numbers, but no screen..

I've never used the cassette player, and I doubt that anyone is still using it.. I must do something about it then!

I took the car for the service, and I told them about this.
They told me that the whole thing is not working, not just the fuse. They ordered the part, and it should arrive soon.

Interestingly enough, I noticed that the sound system I have in the trunk (2 Woofers) isn't working (after I got the car back from the service). I took it to a shop because I thought it was a loose wire or something, turned out it was a fuse, and when the fuse was changed the cigarette lighter is working again!

Thats not good. You shouldnt have any part of your audio system wired through the same circuit as a 12V outlet. Id bet you get quite a bit of noise through the system?

A cigarette lighter and an ash tray? Damn! We haven't had those here in the states for years. And cassette player? Wow! Its interesting to see the differences. Where you have the cassette, earlier models came with a disc changer down there.
