hi all,

I'm new to the forum and not too car savvy.

when I tried to hook up the hitch wiring to the electrical connectors located at the rear panel of the my 97 pathfinder, I had to use a tester to find the right wire to split and I must have shortened the tail light fuse because now I have no tail light at all (left or right) but all turn signals and breaks ligths work. can anyone tell me where's' the fuse box and which one to replace. thanks in advance.

You should have two fuse boxes.

One will be located beneath/behind the coin tray (near your left knee if you're sitting in the drivers seat).

And the other will be under your hood near the battery.

They will both have an outline/map of each fuse and their purpose. I know there is a 10A fuse in the engine bay fuse box that serves your tail lights, but if this one is out almost all other interior illumination should also not be working. Check the grid provided on each fuse box - and see if you can get it from there!

EDIT: Oh! And welcome to Nico!

Go get a plug and play trailer harness. It will just plug in.

Understand that you will need a converter because you PF doesn't have the same signals the trailer needs (anything with
amber turn signals has this problem).

OK, let's assume you are really masochistic, and insist on doing it yourself.

'97 FSM says tail lights are purple with black stripe. And the stop light wire is green with yellow stripe. You sure you
looking in the right place?

Seriously, get the plug and play harness.
