My beautiful white convertible is refusing to "cruise" for me! The "cruise on" button works on the left side...BUT...when i try to set it with the steering wheel button, the light DOES NOT come on the dash, and the cruise does not engage like it used to....I have tried to locate either a "CRUISE" or "ASCD" fuse anywhere on this car....will you other convertible owners please look and see if you can find one for me to check...someone on the Nissan forum suggests that there are "several" fuse boxes under the hood...I only see one rather large one over by the battery...any help would be appreciated...

The other fuse box under the hood is underneath the air filter box on the driver's side. I don't recall which fuses are in that one. There is also a fuse panel on the driver's side kick panel.

Could it be the switch on the steering wheel, and if so, can you find suppliers???? didn't realize this was a weak spot in 240sx's...

More likely to be the switch in the wheel.

See if you can grab one off a car that's being parted out.

That steering wheel has a whole bunch of hidden screws here and there. There are 4 (if I recall) on the sides. @ on each side. Put your head under the wheel and look straight up at it and you will see the holes for them.

Also, the middle "vinyl" section: There is a screw holding that in place as well...and what I did was poke from underneath (where the screw hole was) to kinda "pop" the thing off. From that point on, you will have to mess with alot more screws to get the rest of the wheel off, but you will see all of them. Make sure you have a rachet set handy to get the large nut off in the middle of the wheel.

there are a couple different 240sx steering wheels... mine the center piece was just friction fit and popped off, but maybe others use screws....

Well thanks everyone for all the help, but...1. i never found the fuse,2.i didn't have to take off the steering wheel center area to get to the switch....BUT...the cruise is fixed!...It seems that since the button on the left side of driver would light up, and only the cruise button on the steering wheel would not engage or light up on the dash (green light)..i started thinking about the fact that maybe it might have something to do with the "cruise switch" under the brake pedal...right next to the brake light switch that controls the brake lights....Sure enough...(and this may account for several others cruise control malfunctions)...the small "stop pad" that presses the switch in and shuts off the brake lights had been replaced with a bolt and nut!!!! when this happened, the brake lights worked, BUT because it was thicker than the actual rubber pads that are usually in there it did not allow the cruise switch to activate...also it's pad was missing....once they were both replaced and adjusted properly, all functioned perfectly....So the convertible is cruisin' again, like new!!!!!It is however a pain to get to, and you may end up saying some bad words, but it was a cheap repair!!!!!
