So I ordered an hid conversion kit from simplyhidkits.com with the slim ballast.

It seemed to be a pretty easy install, out with the old in with the new plug and play. For some reason my headlamp fuse for the passenger side keeps getting blown. I've gone through 10 15A fuses doing trial and error and eventually gave up and installed brand new halogen lights back in it.

Anyone come across this or know why my fuse keeps blowing?

Use a relay harness kit man, this way the ballast will be pulling power straight from the battery instead of your headlight harness.

I went through this exact same issue, with the same headlight going out over and over. Eventually gave up. Took it to the dealership today, and they also told me that the wiring harness was melting as well. He said that nissans just stuggle with HID kits. He told me that he had to remove them from his car and he has a relay harness kit that hooked straight to the battery as well.

I'll be getting my relay in tomorrow and I will be trying this HID conversion again this weekend. Then soon after that I will be that jerk on the road with bright a** lights flashing in your rear view mirror. haha

Ya my dealer said that the relay take power from the wiring harness inside the car, but not heat. He said it could melt the wiring harness, (happened to his nissan maxima) and cost up to $800 to replace. Not worth that to me.

I've sold countless of HID kits and Nissan usually are trouble free

relay kits can help, but usually if the kit is blowing fuses consistently there is a problem with the ballast usually. Never upgrade the fuses more than a few amps to solve a HID fuse blowing issue or you often will create a larger issue

I have never seen a HID kit damage the factory harness unless it completely fails and heats up. I don't buy what the dealer says, nor would I agree that Nissans are more prone to trouble.

What I mean to say is don't chalk up the the issues to the car being a Nissan, hold the HID seller accountable if you keep having problems after the relay kit

If possible I'd say buy from a local shop, one with a good reputation and will warranty should anything go wrong.

eBay is a nightmare, after 60 days it's often very difficult to get sellers to warranty defects.

To be 100% honest the quality of HID kits has dropped a lot and even when you pay more for a kit from a online vendor who says their kit is 'Japanese' or 'German' often it's the same as a much cheaper kit.

service is the most important, I know where those HIDs come from, but say you pay $60 somewhere else and you have a warranty issue that goes unresolved, you quickly end up spending more than you paid at kbb!
