So I was noticing there were a couple of complaints flying around about people's Injen Intakes and was just wondering what's going on? I have a A/C 2.5s and people are saying that there will be rubbing of some sort. Could someone explain this to me what this is and how to fix it or better yet could anyone post pictures of how to fix the rubbing problem; I noticed some people said something about putting tape on some parts. My intake should be coming in soon and I just want to know if it's gonna be worth it! I'm pretty new to the whole mod thing and any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Cheers, Kev

Well I have a 2.5L w/CVT and the Injen inatke fits very snug but it fits. Had to mess with it a bit but managed to get it in just right and there is a bit or rubbing but nothing major and no rattling. Good luck.

As said in the Injen Group Buy thread, the intake does rub on the hood lining for the 2.5. It is the MAS that stick out from the intake that does the rubbing.

I'll second the statement that it's nothing major and does not rattle.

I believe if you have a 2.5 in CVT or manual, it's gonna rub.

Just face the intake down a little bit more and it won't rub at all. Push the filter as far as you can up on the pipe or it will be pressing against the battery "cage". I had to mess with it for about 10 minutes before I got it to slide up more but mine is not rubbing against anything in the engine compartment!

from the other posts, the 2.5MT has mounting issues, the CVT has a close rubbing w/ the hood

Thanks for all the input guys! It sounds like there will be little or no problem. Does anyone know what people mean by putting electrical tape around something? I heard that it could minimize the problem. Also, good news, Margaret from Stillen told me my intake was sent out today! I hope I made the right choice!

crazybubba: I just saw your video. Is the wire the part that rubs with the hood and did you experience any problems yourself with the intake?

Cheers,Kev

At first it was rubbing against the battery cage until I read on here to push the filter up more on the pipe and that solved that issue. Because of the way the pipe is designed the MAF sensor sticks up and can rub against the top of the hood. I tried to angle mine down as far as possible so the sensor wasn't sticking straight up!
