I called a guy just now about a Q45. Its a 1994 158,000 miles on the clock. I spoke to a buddy of his who posted the add for him. The guy calls me back, we start talking. My first question was "What model Q45 is it?" He said, "It has the A at the end." I knew it was the active model. He went on to say the car has a cd player in the head unit. I said "Oh they took out the OEM head unit" I went on to discus the Active suspension and to try to find out what was done to it and in the middle of my question the phone hangs up. I tried him back 4 times, no answer. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say we got disconnected. Hopefully he will call me back. If not, I guess the active suspension is shot but they don't want to disclose that. Well I thought it was funny, my search continues. I'm starting to believe GOD may be holding a special car for me when the time is right.

Considering his statement in his last sentence of his post fortune doesn't have much to do with it! Wisdom!

Well, yeah. Education should make one wiser and thus one should benefit from some gain in wisdom.

It has definitely had paint work... monochrome trim didn't come from the factory...

That has to be a mis print. The funny part is I saw this for the first time this morning and was about to email the seller. I am going to keep searching and sees what suits me. It may take me longer or it may come sooner. A supreme purchase would be a 1994-96 at a good price, non-active in either Pearl white, Burgundy or Black. This is what I have been looking for. The prices of the 1997-2001 have been dropping like crazy so if I wait and save I maybe able to enter that purchasing bracket. Thanks guys, I couldn't be part of a better knowledge group of people.

Just got a reply from the seller. That was a misprint, he wants $3500 for it.

Yeah, I agree that the back end looks weird. The trunk lid seems offset on the passenger side, so the car may have been rear ended.

Trunk lid fit id the only flaw in both of my G50, and neither has been hit there.

Gaps just aren't even.

Maybe both of your cars had been rear ended and repaired by a previous owner at a cut rate body shop. Maybe that's why you have to spend so much on maintenance on yours cars.

Just kidding, but did Infiniti really let cars get out of the factory with that much of a difference on the trunk lid gaps?

Apparently they did. I'm sure 15 years of being out in the wild helped too.

LOL, I called a dealer in KC about a 94 Q45. I started asking tons of questions and he goes "WELL YOU WANT IT OR NOT?" I said "I need to know the history of the..." and he hung up.

I then posted his number on the internet and hilarity ensued for a solid week.

There are a series of G50's on the market. When you actually talk to people and they find out you know something about the car they get scared, because two things will happen. 1 They will have to lower the price to reflect the real condition or 2 they will hang up because they would rather sell to some poor person who knows nothing about the real issues old G50's have. I called last week and there was a nice maroon g50. I talked the guy to a price I liked, but there were three issues, Documentation for plates, 190,000+ miles, and MAF needed changing, I average after it was said and done, I could have found a lower millage variation so I backed off. He was the only honest seller, so if I don't find anything I might give him a call. I still got 3 months before I find something, in the mean time, I have a company car for weekends and take the bus to work.
