So, since I did my headgasket swap, my car has run a little rough anytime vac goes to 10in/Hg until about 0-1psi. Just a little buck, so I am thinking my timing belt is off by a tooth. I decided to put off fixing it until I have another set of hands and eyes, ie Monday.

Yesterday morning my g/f graduated (B.S. in Biology, she starts medical school in fall '07), and on my way to her house, BOOM....I loose all revvs, all power, and the car acts like a total brat. So I get to her place, pop the hood, and viola: MAF is unplugged (somehow). So I plug that in, and as I am poking around, I see that the O2 sensor is off! My car has perfect timing, it was just running in open loop!!!!!! Plug everything back in, and boost off down the road. Gotta love that.

Happy boosting guys

Good ol' Rico getting owned by the O2 sensor. That's good stuff...

Seriously, I am THE poster child for the resillience of the CA engine. I have done more stupid things to this motor, and it still bounces back. Incredible!

Sensor 2 Rico/Ca_Silvia 0

Ive been having hella problems trying to troubleshoot my hesitation issue and from day one thought it was a faultly sensor. Turns out the wire going in to the knock sensor wiggled loose after 15 years of use and baiscally made the sensor read nothing. So after tracing the wires and finding the problem its all good now. Stronger and smoother than ever. Stupid sensors now i know why people prefer carbs!

Prefer carbs? Not on a turbo car you don't.
