Wifey's Suburban (The Behemoth) has just about had enough. It has served us failthfully for 15 years. It has taken kids to school, transported 2 big Labradors all over town, towed boats, pulled stumps, gotten airborne (shh, don't tell mama), hauled stuff to the dump, played in the mud, snow and sand, and NEVER complained. But it's day has come.

So I convince the wifey that she no longer needs a 'Burb with a 6" lift, 35" BFG's, Rancho 5000's and headers. Time to downsize. Can't buy anything but Nissan, right? After all, I can't get laughed right outta NICO.

So we go looking, and budget dictates we go with the Xterra. She digs it. With the V6 and 5-speed. In Solar Yellow. I'm cool with that, so the search is on for one to buy.

As we're leaving, she spots the new Quest. For those of you who haven't seen it, it's wild-looking.

She checks it out. Opens the doors. Plays with the buttons. Approves. Her comment as we're standing there looking at it?

"If I HAD to drive a minivan, that's the one I'd want. But it'd have to have THAT paint (points to a chameleon-colored Vette) and have THOSE rims (points to a 350Z on 19" Volk wheels)."

"....AND it has to be lowered."

Wifey rocks. :ylsuper

Haha, sounds like she knows what she wants. Now what are you going to get the Xterra or the tricked out Quest?

AZ,

What kind of Labs do you have? I have one and you must have your hands full with two. I dont think that you can go wrong with an Xterra. Is it the 3.5 or supercharged version?

Yeah, I'd go with the Armada if I could. But alas, if I am to get my G35c and a truck, I may end up having to settle for the new Frontier when it comes out this winter. Not that I'd mind having a VQ40DE to play with...

SuperCharged Xterra is massively expensive for what you get. Bad gas mileage in exchange for a not-so-impressive power increase. It's cool to drive one, but not to own one, so I'm told.

Scottsdale one (bronze) and the yellow one are both a 2.4l which AIN'T happening. Too damn slow.

Armada is out of the price range (we're poor, remember?) but they ARE way cool. Love 'em.

p.s. Both mae Labs - Black lab (80 lbs) named Jake, yellow lab (100 lbs) named Reagan. Both very cool, well-trained and awesome behavior... Definitely the quintessential "truck dawgs".
