89 240SX HATCHBACK RB25DET

So i get my fuel injectors back from a fuel injection specialist. My fuel injectors were reconditioned and sonic cleanned, new o-rings and pintle. also the rail was cleanned. So i go to install and fire up. Engine turns over and has great idle tear a$$ in it for the 1st time around my block and bring it back into the driveway. Engine cools down with turbo timer and shuts off. I Call my buddies to come over and wooo over my accomplishment and what happens. Crank but no turn over. Then we crank somemore and i'm watching the fuel pressure gauge and i notice 43psi when crank and back to 0psi thereafter i also hear somekind of leak and tighten down all clamps on hose. Gave up for the night and had my head down in shame.

Next day:Have my ASE Certified mechanic come over and take a look. He says my engine seized. So we investigate. Take off #1 coil pack and plug and everything is good. Take off #2 and pull spark plug notice it's full of fuel and keep going untill we get to six. Then he says my injectors hydrolocked my engine and that some internals may be affected. So i'm off to the store to get a turkey baster to take out the extra fuel from the cylinders and i pulled a good amount of fuel from the block. He then says easiest way to clear it is to crank the motor with no spark to spark plugs and a fire extinguisher handy. So i hop right on it and he cranks.

Thar she blows. It looked like a family of whales blowing water from thier blow holes. Scary yes and dangerous but everything is great now. So now i'm off to take my injectors back to the specialist and figure out wtf happened.

FYI:keep in mind when i recieved the injectors they told me they were in great condition and were firing in a good spray pattern with a good leak test.we checked the injectors while cranking with them unplugged from the ecu and with them plugged. Same occurence some injectors were wide open and pouring fuel into the block. Checked the harness for signal from ecu and it's all present electrically. If you guys are interested i'll post pics just reply with a yes if interested to see.

you could still have hydrolocked your engine, i would do a compression and leakdown test immediatley.

and make that retard shop pay for any damage. sounds like they screwed something up when replacing the pintles.

We tested for compression but not for leak down and my engine's fine. She cranks and there isn't any hesitations or grinding noises still cranks smoothly soo thank god were fine. I'll post up the pics later of the rail. before and after.

Did the cleaner reinstall the injectors? The o-rings were probably seated improperly.

I'm itching to know the problem, because mine did this too.

Well fellas i called today and found out that the injectors spray well and do a great leak down test when uninstalled from the fuel rail. So i called today and found out that the O-RINGS for some of the injectors were not sitting properly when the technician installed the injectors. I was told that it was flipped over itself and not making a seal.

That explains why my injectors sprayed but i kept noticing that i'd get fuel pressure then lose it within seconds and it led to Hydro locking my engine. Soo, i'm trying to help them find some good o-rings for replacement.

Anyone know where i can get them? or what they're compatible with.

Were the o-rings properly lubed when you installed the injectors? That is a common cause of improperly seating. You can go to any Nissan dealership and pick up upper and lower o-rings for a KA24de. They are the same. The are about a $1.25 for the upper and $0.90 for the lower IIRC.

I have extras. If you want them, PM me.

check my other posts. We solved the probs with some plumbers o-rings from lowes $1.23 for a total of 10. Working out for me great. Holds all the pressure and no leaks.

Are those rings fuel resistant?

I have posted in a while I just recieved my rb today

Hmm... Injector seals shouldn't make you lose pressure unless they are the ones from the fuel rail to the injector. If thats the case then there would have been gas all over the place and no fuel in the combustion chamber.

The only way fuel would have gotten into the CC is if the injector was stuck open. A bad lower seal would just cause one hell of a vaccum leak though. But no way a bad Lower seal could have made gas leak from the fuel reail to the CC. Fuel can't leak past a seal and end up in the combustion chamber because the only thing stopping the fuel is the pintle inside the injector.

I'd say they mis-assembled the injectors, fixed it, and reinstalled them. If you did the install yourself then I am way confused. Does this make sense to anyone else?

Nope. I installed them on my injectors and it stopped the POURING of the gas into the engine.
