Ok... so I go out and start up my Q this morning.... and to my surprise I hear a humming type-noise(don't ask me for specifics, im not good at writing noises) coming from the back, and from what I can gather it was the fuel pump running. Had a almost nearly full tank of gas so I dont know why it would be running. any comments?

also... at the same time, i was hearing a sound that sounded like water sloshing around under the hood. how can i describe the sound better...... kinda like when water runs through a household radiator. what would that be? hopefully not a big problem, or a problem at all:(.

Sounds like the dreaded beginning of fuel pump failure (learn how to replace it here on NICO); AND some air in your cooling system. Top it off and see what happens.

ok. i'll top of the cooling system as soon as possible. the pump stopped the humming in less that 20 seconds, if that means anything somewhat better(which it probably wont).

assuming i need a new fuel pump, how much does one cost approx.?

Can't recall - Call Joe at Scottsdale...

You'll want to confirm that it's the pump (get in the trunk and listen) and then replace ASAP before it damages the controller (more expensive to repace).

Happy fixin'! :D

Before you replace the pump chage the fuel filter first to see if trash has created a restriction.

The initial noise is common with wear, but it is the continuous noise [hum] you must worry about [when it doesn't go away]. Unfortunately the owners brain filter gets use to the sound after months.
