Got the rb20 swapped into my s13, it cranked right up after sitting for a while which was good. Sounds good but it sound like I have a cylinder that is not firing. I am assuming its one of the coil packs. I took the car for a little drive through the neighbor hood, felt like it wasnt as powerful as it should be. So I parked it and let the engine idle and a strange noise started coming from the timing belt cover area, atleast I think thats where it was coming from. It sounds sort of a like a "card in bike tire" type noise, its a clicking noise and it got faster with the RPMS. It is fairly loud as well. The engine seems to be running just fine other than the loud noise and the bad coil pack. I changed out the water pump and followed all the instructions in order to make sure I didnt throw the timing off prior to the install. Anyone have any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this? It is not the power steering pump, the reservoir is full.
