Well I thought it post this so somebody might get a kick out of it. I bought a junkyard motor and attempted to convert from single to dual cam. After 6 months my car still wont run....no matter what I do. Finally got the motor back together suspension back together and everything is fixed that the mechanic broke. Turn the key ....and nothing happens except that it turns over and knocks like crazy. After setting timing it tries but it won't start. I pull the cold air intake off and there are puddles of gas in the intake...(this is where it gets kinda humorous). I didn't think about the gas sitting there and turned it over and blew 2 feet of flames out of the intake manifold via the throttle body. Me and my friend had a good laugh at my expense. In the end the motor is screwed and my install is over. Im talking to a guy I know with an autoshop tomorrow to see if he wants to install a new KA motor out of an S14 into my S13. Wish me luck...with this whole project going crazy with one thing after another I'm going to need it.

heh, reminds me of the days when my brother and i used to work on 350 SBC's, this once we were working on a wiring messed 92 camaro, the engine just didn't wanna start, and for some reason(this was with TBI(throttle body injection, sort of a carb with injectors rather than nozzles for those who don't know) the engine backfired with some fuel still around, and well fuel went out and ignited around the intake manifold and almost burnt the fuel lines(and well fuel, which would've blown up the car), luckily we had just bought a fire extinguisher a week ago. none the less it was a mess after that and cleanin the engine was a pain in the rear.
