Funky transmission noise

I posted this problem a while back but the suggestions didn't work. The noise is a rattling type that occurs when i put the car in gear. It starts to go away at higher rpm's(greater than 2200 about). rarely in 4th and 5th. mainly in 1st and 2nd. I was told i might need to change my transmission fluid but I did and that didn't help. Any other suggestions? Whats in there that could be making that noise? Also, the noise only occurs under throttle load. Not under deceleration. Thanks in advance.

Do you have the Stock Downpipe? On the KA this is very common on the Downpipe Heat Shields the bolts rust and break and then you get a rattle at about 2000-2200 RPM.

I bet thats it if you have a Heat Shield on your Stock Turbo or Downpipe. Maybe even the one on a CAT(doubt it).

Yea i have the heat shield on the exhaust mani. After marked from thereon back though. I'll check that

But it also makes the noise during idle. And it speeds in higher gears.

Yea its definately something vibrating, its not a motor or transmission problem. Id check that heat shield though. or remove it. Hmmm.... thats all i got though.

I used to have an APEXi N1 Exhaust and it would do the same thing. My problem was the HKS Resonator (looks like a muffler in the middle of the exhaust pipe just in front of the rear axle) rubbing against the chassis. I cut it out and straight piped the exhaust where the resonator used to be. It is still legal as there is a muffler and cat but it was loud as hell. I have since replaced setup with a turbo back kit due to the 5-0 knowing i was coming from 2 miles away... Hope that helps.
