Once again, you are jumping to conclusions. Where did I say "You are committing insurance fraud"? Nowhere. I only said that I have a feeling that something fishy COULD be going on here. I honestly don't give a flying fu** what anyone thinks about me. I'm not putting anything on anyone. I know what my original point was, and that was misunderstood and taken out of proportion. I became a "d***" when you got all hissy pissy accusing me of being happy that this went down.

You are not being clear. You gave a vague description of what happened, but completely skipped over what I was asking, which was what did you do to try and put the fire out. That's all I have wanted this whole time: some clarification. Why? For my own personal reasons. Contrary to what you and everyone else might believe, I'm not planning on taking what you say and attacking you with it. As stated before, I have a fishy feeling, and I'd like some clarification to eliminate that feeling. You completely avoiding the question and making wild accusations is doing nothing but feeding that feeling.

You're right, according to everyone else's posts, they all have the same vibe about what happened. But I'm quite sure there have been a few that have looked at this thread and saw that you were taking pictures instead of attempting to do something and thought "hmm, that's odd". I get it, you didn't want to be hurt. I can accept that from the 3rd pic down. You can bet your a** I wouldn't be going near a car that is full engulfed. But the first two pics, with just a sh** ton of smoke, yeah, I'd be attempting to pop the hood and try to solve the problem. You clearly went back into your car and turned the lights and everything off meaning you weren't putting a safe distance between you and the car. I don't care that bringing this question up makes me look like an a**. You getting all defensive is what makes it fishy. Get over it. This is a forum. This isn't happy land where everyone is nice to everyone. If you can't handle criticism, you should have just sat in the car because that's all life is. Don't hate me for being honest

As soon as I finished my swap I went and bought a marine fire extinguisher from Wal-Mart. I think it was like 10 bucks. I'm also thinking about investing in some sort of heat resistant glove. One thing people don't realize is that the hood can get very hot quickly and a fire extinguisher will do you no good if you can't open the hood.

Don't worry about Hoffman. If anything happens to any car he ever has we will imply (exactly what he did and just as bad as coming out and saying it) that it was insurance fraud.

Real mature 95_240. I honestly don't know how anyone could misunderstand that part of my post. I am not accusing him of insurance fraud. I am not implying it. I had a feeling, yes. I didn't purposely create that feeling about this guy. That is the sole reason I asked him to elaborate on the situation. I wanted to be able to not have negative feelings about someone I'd never met. That is the complete opposite of what you are accusing me of, and that makes you just as much of a scumbag as OP has tried to make me out to be. Read what I am typing. I'm sure there are a few grammatical error, but the main point is very clear. I am not accusing him of anything. I just want to know more. You may be more simple minded than me and take people at face value. I used to be like that and got screwed over, so now, whatever the case is, I am simply eager to know more. Don't insult and demean me for it

Yea but you know what he meant. He wasn't saying 100% "oh its insurance fraud" He's just saying from what he could gather, thats what his first guess would be. By now I'm sure his opinion is different now that he knows more.

Srsly why is everyone being so nitpicky?

This was probably lost in translation somewhere.

Thank you. I'm glad you get my point. You quoted the statement where I clearly did not accuse him of insurance fraud. Implying it? No sir. I said the idea popped into my head, and if you were to include that with the rest of that post it would further reinforces that point. I simply gave him a reason as to why I was so interested in knowing what happened. Don't understand? let me clarify.

Image

That LOOKS like a Lamborghini. But it isn't. Me saying it looks like one isn't implying that it is. If I were looking at it in real life, I would spot the engine and I would think something looked fishy. I would ask the owner some questions to find out whether it's the real deal or if it's a kit.(it's a kit car btw)

That is EXACTLY what is going on here. Just because I said it kind of looks like insurance fraud doesn't mean that I'm accusing it of insurance fraud. Hell, most wouldn't even give the luxury of letting the OP explain. That clearly shows that I want to know the truth

The statements he made could have been put differently and I'm sure the OP who just lost his car didn't want someone commenting about how he could have done more. The only person who knows what else could have been done is the OP because he was the only one there. He doesn't need someone coming on here telling him that a shirt would have put out his particular fire.

Read what I am saying. I never said you accused him of insurance fraud but when you bring up insurance fraud you are implying that he could have committed it. It was an unnecessary topic for this thread and you should apologize to the OP for bringing it up.

Oh, now you are telling me what to do? Ok father.

You just contradicted yourself within the same sentence. I didn't accuse him of insurance fraud, but I implied that he did? Isn't that the same thing? I did neither. I raised my concerns and asked him about it before doing such a thing as accusing him.

The only thing I will apologize to the OP for is my bluntness, but not for raising the concerns that I did and defending myself for those concerns. So here goes.

mindovaanything- I am sorry for coming off as a d***. I wasn't trying to do so, but I am fully aware that I did. I know what it's like to lose a car, although I didn't lose it in such an extreme way. I am happy that you are safe, physically, unaffected by this freak accident. You can replace cars, but not people.

Sorry for the loss. When I bought my first car, my grandpa took me shopping. He bought be a crap load of shop towels, a nice tool set, some cleaning supplies, and a fire extinguisher as a gift for my first car. I thought to myself "wtf, I'm never going to use this and will be embarrassed to have it in my car." Now, looking at this, when I'm done, that fire extinguisher will be going in my car.

Hoffman, great apology. It takes a man to apologize. :mike :mike

Hopefully we can all kiss and make up.

Hey Hoffman it's your father. Thanks for apologizing.

Accusing and implying are not the same thing. Accusing would be saying "Hey he is committing insurance fraud."

Which you pretty much said here
Hoffman5982 wrote:I can't seem to shake the idea of "insurance fraud" out of my head because honestly, that's what it looks like to me
So I guess I was wrong about the implying it should have been accusing.

Hopefully the mods will come in and trim the fat my posts included. This forum isn't for bashing and that is what has happened.

Are you really still going at it?

Ok, I'm going to say this plain and simple. Saying "that's what it looks like" is closer to it being implied than being an accusation. It doesn't really matter though because it is neither of those two things. If I was accusing him of something, I wouldn't dress it up in a cute little outfit for him. If you can't tell, I don't really care about what others think, and therefor I'd be more than happy to openly state it. Jesus, how many times do you have to be told something before you understand it?

Also, you could not be my father. He is a smart man and would never display the amount of stupidity you have shown on this page alone.

Once again, you have contradicted yourself. Also, don't be so hard on yourself, it will be ok in the end.

I think everyone opposing me will more than agree with this.

Do no include yourself with everyone else in this thread. Everyone against is providing pretty good content to support their argument. You, on the other hand have provided some very illegible incomplete sentences which I'm pretty sure are insulting me. I can only assume that's what you are doing as I can't really understand your lingo. You are also acting like a complete child right now with your previous statement. The one I quoted. You know, the one where you insinuated that I partake in homosexual activities. You are doing nothing here but proving your underdeveloped and narrow minded brain activity, as you have with just about all of your 400 posts on this forum. I have only told you and maybe 95_240(too lazy to look) to grow up, and that is for good reason. I am not including you in this argument. After that previous statment from you I have nothing else to say, and I hope the mods take action and at the very least issue you with a temp ban. You have made zero contributions to this forum and, frankly, I'm embarrassed that I share the same interest in cars as you. Have a good night

LMAO... Very good i was insulting you, as you were me in your first post to me... my first comment i was simply telling you to shut up! So you do partake in homosexual activities... (hit up San Fransisco bro) You need to realize that you talk and run your mouth way to much... the OP's life is more important than saving a $3000 car... and all you can think of is accusing him of insurance fraud and bitching at him that he didnt save the car! I would love to see some of the Super intelligent comments you made to help people out in the past... what do you want me to contribute to this forum? Yea sucks to share the same intrest in cars... i take you more of a honda guy with the"big man syndrome" attitude... when in reality your just a small s*** stain on the underwear of of A LOT of car enthusiasts! Goodnight hoffman, im gonna go get laid!
