Pics from last night:

Propane torch vs sound deadening material. Also I dyed the dash from brown to black.

today is cleaning of remaining residue with mineral spirits and a metal brush. The the interior gets a nice coat of flat black, and the driver/passenger floopans get truck bed liner coating.

More to come tonight.

from what i understand u can drop another 30-40lbs from doing it...but its also for asthetical puposes too. From everything ive carted off so far...im sure ive dropped a few hundred pounds off it.

getting s14 seat(s) hopefully soon. also gonna use s14 belts (instead of factory crappy belts).

here are some pics from tonight...coating the interior with truck bed liner:

just getting started with it...so far its coming along great. the truck bed liner spray is skid resistant, and does not scratch easy. It will seal the metal better and also provide a little noise dampening.

More pics coming tomorrow (hope to have the entire cab done).

hahaha nice man, thats a good idea coating it with truck liner. I think that the liner will help keeping rust to a minimum. i did notice that you left the speakeris in , you gooing to leave them there.

so you got all that tar crap off with a torch? i read somewhere that's a good 40lbs.....if you get it all. if you go real hard core 2100lbs is obtainable........i'm not quite that crazy though, but my friend is. his RPS13 is weighing in at 2100lbs that is with a roll cage added.

Hey...

That spray on bed-liner is okay for getting the hard to reach areas.... but I would really suggest using the roll on bedliner for every part that you can get to. I did my truck bed with the spray on first. Within a couple months a lot of it had scuffed away. The roll on stuff has been on for a couple years and it is indestructable. We also used it on the inside of a Suzuki Samauri, and it has held up perfectly. The roll-on is thicker and definately holds up better. Unless you are getting a professional spray job like Rhino Liner, the store bought sprays are not very durable.

with mine Rps13 I'm shooting for about 2300lbs, thats with doing the following:1. C/F hood(yes, Im doing this for weight savings, not looks :P)2. Plexi-glass/acrilyc windows(rear 1/4, hatch, maybe doors)3. fiberglass front air dam(maybe lose 7lbs..hah.)4. removal of "moon roof" and welding in a peice of alluminum, or making a plexi glass peice to replace it.5. instlalation of VOLk wheels(saves a total of 10lb..heh.)6. Instlalation of lighter weight suspension epices(such as battle versions chromoly adjustable peices, the t/c alone saved me 10lbs, about 5 a peice..)

and of course, some sound materials, etc. mostly I'll just be replacing factory heavy things with lightweight alternatives when possible, but I want girls to be able to ride in it too, without going "uh...lets take my accord, please?"

so It's got some use other than road racing(primary). chicks count, too :D

good stuff man...ill definately do that on the driver and passenger footwells.

when u say it had scuffed away...do u mean because of repetitive things being loaded/unloaded...or it just flaked off.

also, do you think i'd be ok applying the roll on over the stuff I just applied? thanks for the suggestion!

Basically, it's just like you said. The spots that had frequent use wore out, right down to the primer. Originally, I sand blasted the entire bed (we also did this to the Samauri tub) and gave it one coat of primer. Then sprayed the bed-liner. After it started to wear away, I just applied the roll-on over it. One gallon gave me about 3 coats... and it has held up wonderfully!

I would say just roll it right over the layer you already did.
