Fully tuned/bolted Q50 vs untuned Q50 Red Sport

In 2014, the G37 Sedan became Infiniti Q50. G37 Coupe and Convertible became Infiniti Q60 under Infiniti's new naming structure - Here's the place to discuss the Q50 and Q60!

Nice discussion in the bvid comments too.
IMHO Infiniti doesnt get enough credit for this strong platform.

It's tunable, that's for sure. Unfortunately I have to cancel my AMS Stage 3 install that was scheduled for next week as all my travel has been canceled. May look at Dynosity instead.

I hear any Q50 with a VR motor gets a beefed up tranny vs the 3.7 equipped one. The 7 speed in the 3.7 has never had longevity complaints either.. so the new trannys must be real strong.

That's what has been hinted at but I've yet to really see any specifics on it. Seems they are good for 500hp/500tq and afterward you should look towards level10 or do a 6mt swap.

My information is that the 2016 and up have additional clutch packs in the transmission.
My tune with a heat exchanger makes 511 wtorque...I'm not sure I trust that, but everyone tells me they have no problem and some of those guys have been beating the bejeezus out of their cars for upwards of 15k miles in some cases. I'm talking drag strip racing every weekend.

So far, I have not heard of anyone breaking the transmission, and only one guy who broke a half shaft.

My problem Is I come from a 4th gen Fbody crowd. Our rear ends and transmissions shattered if you looked at them hard. But I am becoming more comfortable with the powerlevel on this car and I am not seeing any issues. Knock on wood...

That may be the case, changes to the clutch packs. I know the G37 7sp auto seems less sporty shifting than the 3.0t Q50/Q60 versions. Hell, my 3.7 Q50 auto is absolutely less sporty than the Q60RS trans in my coupe. Mid-400hp was the general limit when modding the G37, 500-ish seems to be more attuned to this current version.
