I just wanted to throw a shout out to Scott Bush for his excellent build on my car. About 2 years ago I was referred to Scott for my car build from some friends of mine of other forums. I debated about it but finally decided to meet Scott and talk numbers. Scott was very professional and kept it real with me. I had a list of parts that I was potentially looking at purchasing and having installed. Scott commended me on my research but then asked what I was going for... A fully built Z that would be a daily driver, that has around 500 HP that I could take on a track if I wanted. Scott looked at my list again an told me that the parts that I wanted would not give me that and I was just over paying for parts that weren't even that good. After our meeting he sent me a list of everything he recommended I should get and a price.

....Here is the new parts list (off the top of my head)......

- Relentless Autosports built VQ35DE race engine with our own RA designed rods and pistons- Our now famous (and now frequently copied) use of the HR head bolts and modified HR head gasket, of course (LMAO)- Jim Wolf Technology C2 cams and valve springs- Jim Wolf Technology 700BB twin turbo kit complete- Jim Wolf Technology fuel system with 250 walbro pump, JWT FMU, and SS box- DW 500cc injectors (the new style) flowed and calibrated on a flow bench jig by us for accuracy- Jim Wolf Technology high clamping force clutch and lightweight flywheel- Setrab custom engine oil cooler- Megan Racing harder rubber semi-solid engine and transmission mounts- Megan Racing resonated down pipes- Polished upper plenum with ported lower collector and ported mid section- Carbon fiber engine cover- Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential- BC Racing BR+ coilovers with custom springs and valving- Megan Racing adjustable upper control arms, rear camber arms, and rear radious arms- Megan Racing Big Break kit front and rear (calipers/rotors/pads/lines- Hard Race sway bars- AEM wide band air/fuel gauge- Stri boost gauge- Stri oil pressure gauge- Custom gauge install

That list covered Brakes, Suspension, Motor, Turbos, and Tuning.

Thanks to Scott 1 year later my car is still going strong! No boost lag, no suspension problems, and my motor is running like a champ. I've even made an appearance to some car meets out in Jacksonville and people have even seen my car running beautifully! I recommend RA and Scott Bush to anyone looking at building their Z!

Oh yeah... I have 522 hp and 505 ft tq to the wheel at 13 lbs of boost and the dynos to prove it!

522HP with 13psi! Thats awesome.

Couple questions.

What RMP does boost start to build and when is full pressure attained?

What compression ratio are you running?

And yes, some pictures would be great.

Mike (LAUGHITUP85), good to see you on here and thanks for the kind words. How is Florida treating you??

As for some pictures and to help answer some questions, I might be of some help here....

LOW BOOST 522.21whp 505.13tq @ 12.9 psi

MODERATE BOOST Blue=fifth gear @ 14.8psi 561.26whp and 439.8tqred=fourth gear @ 14.8psi 555.27whp and 447.95tq in 83 degree whether on pump gas (still 91 octane)Here is that dyno chart.....

Compression ratio is 8.78 to 1 The car builds boost very early about 1,900, and is at full boost very early about 3,200-4,500ish. It all depends on the boost pressure setting, load, or if its on the street or a roller dyno vs a load based dyno.

Wow! those are great numbers especially considering you have to limit yourself to the crappy 91 oct California Gas.

I bet it'd be easier to get numbers on 93/94 Oct East coast Gas

I suspect Mike is now running on a huge safety margin on 93 Oct gas in Florida.

It's a great car! Great build! And such nice touches on the interior and everything! Just wondering... how much did you spend on all this RWHP goodness?

I guess I don't know enough about FI....but does it seem odd to anyone else that they got more torque with less boost and less HP?

That is odd... I know FI fairly well, and that one's strange to me too. :

On a side note, as a reminder: Our rule here is clear: We don't allow postings about a vendor UNLESS you have done business with them directly. No hearsay, no "friend of a friend", none of that.

Good eye guys, yes you are correct. The initial tuning was started off with the 14.8psi runs (second dyno chart) before the timing and A/F was all fine tuned and dialed in....This was just where we started the car off to see where we were at. like a default and starting point. Keeping on mind Mike's (the customers) request and goal was a 500WHP car on 91 octane (not more), so we guessed that 14 or so PSI would be a good starting point and a good guess to obtain the 500WHP goal. Looks like we had to actually lower boost to get him to where he felt comfortable, LOL

Because the customers goal was to be at a VERY conservatively tuned 500WHP (not 560whp) daily driven car we THEN lowered the boost a couple pounds to bring the power down to where he personally felt comfortable driving it at and then fined tune the car at that boost level with the timing, A/F, etc. Now, because there was a tad more timing in the ECU once we dialed it in and fined tuned it at the lower boost setting (especially in the lower RPM range), that is why the torque is a bit higher as you noticed and mentioned.

RA is a vendor here? Looks like a normal user to me. I don't see anyone defending Jeremy/drift-tuners.com and their antics.

zer...usted

This thread is obviously just an advertisement for RA, yet RA is neither a sponsor nor vendor on this site. Why the double standard?

If anything, it should serve as a warning to anyone in SoCal considering an FI build. There is an ENORMOUS amount of controversy surrounding this shop, its owner, and his underwhelming business ethics. The fact that he is banned on nearly every VQ35 related website isn't a coincidence or "hearsay."

Thankfully most of the Z owners on NICO lack the $$$ to go FI anyways. TSW/Rota wheels, front lip, and ebay exhaust is about as far as most people here make it...

Jorge - You need to have Han contact me. You guys have your own issues to handle before you go lipping off about other shops.

Not at all.

Jeremy's a clown. And no one here is defending anyone. Check yourself.

Whatever, dude. With 26 posts, your opinion is pretty irrelevant. There's plenty of well-built VQ cars here.

I'm really not interested in providing a venue for two things:

1) Non-customers bashing a shop.

2) Non-advertisers hawking their wares.

So, guess what?
