A...ceramic coating goes on the outside of the engine. It's used mostly on the exhaust, to keep the heat from radiating out. b. Your motor has to be completely taken apart to be cryo'ed. It's not dipped!!! It's placed in a room thats chilled to -320 f for 12 hours, then room is allowed to be warmed slowly for 24 hrs until it reaches room temp. It's then heated to 320 f for 12hrs and allowed to cool for 24hrs. It cost around $600-$650 plus shipping for the motor. It takes 5 days for the process. There is also a 5%+ increase in hp. Your engine life will most likely be doubled if you boost it 20+ Kansas city, mo has the best cryo.McAdam wrote:two little known processes. Ceramic Coating and Cryogenic Treating. look into it. theses are untouched feilds for street cars.
if you are looking for effeciency, the ceramics are your best bet. coat the tops of the pistons, combustion chambers and the exhaust port. that will lower you engine temps dramatically. from there you should also coat your exhaust manifolds and th hot side of the turbos.
the cryogenics process just keeps stuff from busting in the first place and makes it last a lot longer. crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, head, valve springs, hell, they can dip the whole motor! also another worthwhile venture, in my eyes. anyway best of luck to ya!
