Plan on running a GT3071R and some 550cc's, I would like to get above 300 hp for now, would a full standalone be overkill?

only gonna be overkill if you dont plan on getting it tuned properly and not using it to its full potential

Find out what tuner is near you and what brand they prefer to tune with and go from there... for your mod level and goals I would suggest an Apexi PFC as long as you have a way to have it tuned. Plug and play with this setup...

If you have no intention of taking it further a SAFC and a AFPR could tune that easily.
