thanks a lot! Will look up that tool...been opening door panels...kinda tedious...

Btw can you show a pic of how you stuck the ring terminal to the battery? Pic? Might try to saw mine but have to change the + terminal....so I dunno yet
How's the progress of your install so far?

Sorry have been a bit busy lately. I'll try and remember to snap a pic of it tomorrow. Basically I just loosened the nut off the terminal bolt, put the amp power ring terminal on the bolt, then tightened the bolt back on to it and I just let the ring terminal bend into position as I tightened the nut. Hopefully that made sense.

oh sorry...missed the response you gave...
sounds good...my terminal screw is OLD and rounded out...might try to buy a new screw/bolt for it....damnit
still have to buy a 1/2 din crossover and then just install a sub first before jigsawing wood to accomodate my separates for the rear door...oh and sound dampeners...gah....too much stuff...I never go the extra mile with that so I can probably live with a little rattle

Im also quite curious as to the technical name of this tool, seems like it would make things a breeze!!

Knowing how to cleanly get the wires out of the car and into the door is what Id really love to know though!!
Obviously you're not still looking for the answer to this, but if anybody else is...
It's called a 'wire insertion tool'. You can pick up either of two sizes on Amazon for about $15, or the combo pack for $20.

Thanks for the writeup. Plan to do same install soon. Never done anything with stereo systems before.

Got 4 Kenwood speakers 75w RMS each. 14 gage wire for them. Pioneer single din head unit. Plan to get a 4 channel amp 100w RMS each channel for speakers and a single sub with amp.

Where did you find out how to remove all interior pannels?

When I did mine, I think I just googled it and probably found a youtube video of getting it off. It was 2 years ago when I replaced my front door speakers. Running new speaker wire to it took me 2 days to complete, 1 day per side as it was crazy hot and all I had at the time was a coat hanger. I am running Focal Auditor series components in the doors with a Focal Solid 2 channel amp, I also cut out a hole in the door panel for the tweeter rather than replace the stock one. I do not have rear speakers as I don't need the soundstage/imaging of them, just my preference. I don't listen to music a whole lot, mainly talk radio 85% of the time so I am wondering if I should even throw in a subwoofer. If I do decided to add one, I will probably upgrade to the Focal Auditor 4 channel amp and bridge the rear. I already have a Pioneer 10" shallow pre-loaded enclosure.
