1 - Do a search. I've searched for everything you have asked and found plenty about it here. Don't be lazy.

Motor options If you're sticking to a 180sx/silvia only conversion, your choices are:CA18DETSR20DETKA24DET (your stock engine with a turbo...)Each engine has been a proven platform and really, motor choice comes down to personal preference. A turbo KA will make oodles of torque due to it's displacement, and the CA will be a high-revver that brings a smile to your face, but needs to be kept boiling to make power. The SR20 falls somewhere in between.

TrannyAll the trannies for the above engines are more or less the same and are swappable if the bellhousings are changed out.

Rearend:Not too informed here but you can pick up a VLSD from the HICAS S13 (drops right in), S14 (also drops in i believe), J30, and z32 NA (the previous two require you to change the output shafts on the diff or change your halfshafts)

Nobody sells everything together. Check the sponsors to your right. And for goodness sake, learn how to farkin search.

Just buy a clip.Unless your keeping KA which I think is stupid if your silvia front.here was a thread about this last week on converting to RHD.Just search RHD conversion and email members that have done it.Also buy form our sponsors and if you can wait a little bit maybe they can find a more complete front clip or at least one with a clean dash.Have fun on the project. You goign to cut firewall then reweld or just drill hole for steering?

Get a clip. There are numerous arguments on making new hole vs cutting firell and rewelding.Research and see which you want.

If your 89 coupe had been a silvia it would have came with either a CA18DE or CA18DET.

If you are really actually very serious about doing this, you could work with a parts/vehicle broker to buy a whole Silvia K's in japan, have it cut up such that you can get all the peices off of it that you need, and have it shipped over. Pretty much the only way to get the whole package (brakes, motor, firewall, interior, lights, LSD, etc....)

Hehe, I grew out of Honda hate the same time I grew out of being a total Nissan fanboy. Yeah, I wanted to turn my 240 coupe into a Silvia replica too :p

Please do us all a favor... do not butcher your 240 by turning it to RHD. I'm sorry but I doubt you've ever driven a RHD car (***holes assume, I kn0w), and once you try you may find crashing your newly transformed car straight into a tree. Oh, and search. Searching makes everyone your friend, because we don't want to do all the research work for you

Definitely a big waste of time. ESPECIALLY if you've never driven RHD before. You'd save alot of time and money just importing a Silvia and ripping off the Japanese tags and replacing them with US vins and plates.

"im looking for people to do the seaching for me im looking for people that have done it and/or know where to look" You just broke the first rule of NICO club, admitting that you're not doing ANY searching. Listen, nobody wants to do the work for you, therefor nobody will. Besides, I highly doubt many have done such a conversion, because they know it's a very big waste of time and effort. Please, just don't take this RHD fanboy stuff so seriously, especially with your lack of experience. Just get yourself a digital HVAC controller and some powerfolding mirrors and be done with it.

Atleast steal a mail truck to practice with...

Why would someone convert a car to RHD? Seriously?

I mean, I'd buy a real silvia and convert it to LHD..

Doing your 'full conversion' is very time consuming. i recommend completing exhaustive research and preparation before attempting. Do yourself a favor and create a list of all the parts, tools and equipment you will need. This conversion is an expensive operation. Of course, you will know this because you will have done your research. Create a budget and price everything out, including tools/equipment you need to buy or rent and services you can't/won't do such as welding or fabrication. Leave youself extra for unexpected costs.

Preparation and planning is key for any serious project.

In my opinion, driving a right hand car as primary transportation on a left hand oriented road system is unsafe as well as inconvenient. I don't recommend it.

The US virgin islands use all LHD cars and drive on the left hand side of the road. I've driven there and its fine, nothing unsafe about it.

People who say going RHD is a waste of time are only saying such because they dont see how a project like that can be benificial to your skills and knowlege of cars. You can only say that it is a waste of time if you have done it and you didnt learn anything.

Exactly, and if you happen to be deaf in your right ear (as I am) switching to RHD would improve chances of hearing your passanger(s)....but I doubt I'd spend that much time and money just to hear my passangers, the way I drive would be enough to shut them up for a bit

It is, nonetheless an admirable feat, hope you get it together honda_killer240, I'd like to see it!
