Hello all,

I have a 2 qrt accusump and a 19 row oil cooler with -10AN inlets. I had it hooked up as follows:

Adapter off the filter housing with 3/8" ports with -10AN fittings.

Fed into a remote filter mount, -10AN inlet with 3/8" ports again.

Out of the remote mount and into a thermostat with 3/8" ports, when oil temp is high it diverts oil through to the cooler through -8AN lines.

Accusump is tee'd into the return from the thermostat, all -10AN.

I got oil pressure issues when running, would only get around 30psi hot or cold. A quick stab of the throttle would get it to peak around 80psi.

I pulled all the above off and just put a filter on. Oil pressure is as you would expect at around 80psi at cold idle.

I need to hook up the Accusump again as I'm getting oil starvation under heavy braking (rear sump, no baffles).

I'm thinking of hooking the oil cooler up to receive full flow. I will be getting a new filter sandwich adapter, looking at the Morosso ones with 1/2" ports. Will -10AN the whole way be big enough to not have oil pressure issues? I don't really want to spend another $300 on AN fittings that I will just be removing again...

i would go with -12 because there have been a handfull of guys having issues with the -10 stuff. jerry for sure thought the
-10 stuff led to the failure of his first motor. i'm going to run -12 on mine it should be out of paint in a week or two. then i will be putting it all together to see for myself. i originally bought all -10 stuff and later found that jerry had oiling issues with it, so now i have all -12 stuff, a canton racing oil thermostat and earls oil cooler and have been looking real hard at hamburgers oil filter relocation blocks. i bought a greddy oil block w/thermostat built in, but has -10 fittings so =fail! but if you get your's together with -12 or vise versa we should exchange feed back. good luck man

Hmmm....

Thanks for the info. I might go to my local hydraulic shop and see if they can hook me up with some industrial stuff, might be cheaper than going ally AN fittings from Summit. I'm pretty sure I'll sell the engine and conversion off once it's done and working ok. I need WAY more power and can't be arsed stuffing around with turbo's on a VH. Got me some HKS turbo's to suit a VG30DETT and some big grumpy custom cams so I will probably go down that path.

Nooooo Chris!! Cant believe your gonna give up on the VH :frown:

12AN seems excessive to me, I'm using 10AN with 1/2 ports in my oil cooler/filter relocation setup. Speaking of this oil starvation problems, there was talk of making a different size sprocket for the oil pump. Did anything ever eventuate from that? I have access to a cnc machine shop now and it could be something worthwhile to make.

Cheers

James

Haha, well I need MOAR and the VH isn't doing it for me... Also toying with the idea of a LS3/L98, Eric will do the whole conversion for me for a pretty good price and I can't be arsed doing another V8 swap myself.

I never heard of anything going anywhere with the oil pump sprockets and chains.

I'm going to ditch the oil cooler for the VH and just run a inlet for the Accusump to get it all working.
