Has anyone seen a company that sells a plastic cargo liner to use when you have the rear seats folded down? Ideally it would have some support at the "trunk" end to give a flat floor. I could make one myself fairly easily but a premade one would be better.

Versa speed is testing one right now.if you go to his site you will see a pic of it in the photo section labelled "checking it out".

From what i was told (i asked him about it) it makes the floor of the trunk level with the seat backs.

You can make your own for the price of two six foot sections of 1x10 lumber and some screws (nails). You can leave it open so that little or no storage room is lost or put a 1/2" sheet of plywood or plastic over the top to make an actual floor out of it. Works great both ways and it's portable so you don't need to leave it in the Versa unless you want to.

First off, let me pout about the sub thing... hopefully they will offer it as well soon.

Secondly, the idea listed above is not satisfactory. The cargo piece for the TIIDA has opening sections so that you can store things under the raised area which would be super awesome for those of us who transport things and such. Especially those of us who transport little things and their belongings (read as: have kids with stuffs that go with).

I'm excited about getting the same cargo piece as what is offered for the TIIDA...I should e-mail Bob...

I just got the entire "upgrade" speaker system and will install the "subwoofer" in the rear and when the back piece arrives will see if it fits.

I'm seeing if there is any difference between the "upgrade" system and the regular sl system.

??? Is it my idea that you're referring to? If so, I'm not picturing the problem you're describing.

Well, it's either a) a frame or b) a platform...

Problem with A) no covered portion to properly support delicate items

Problem with B) it's would be incredibly complicated to create something with opening compartments and I'm sure it would be heavier than the accessory offered through Nissan, which is also removable.

I'd also like to state that it is a good idea! (I'm no hater, even if I sounded like one, let me bow out now) But it wouldn't be satisfactory for me... I would like the unit that I saw on the Japanese Nissan's website... It's carpeted, hinged, probably made of plastic, and (quite honestly, I'll admit it) would require less work ;oD (I laugh at myself!)

So... yeah ;oD

I'm lazy and just want things provided to me which work and are efficient ;oD That's the most honest answer I can give... ;oP

I'd still like to get the full bed cargo liner in the future. However, since I've had my Versa Hatch for about 10 days now, I'm beginning to like the non-flat floor. One of my picks with cars like Matrix and HHR is that they have the hard plastic flat space behind the rear seats and things like bags of groceries really slide around back there. (By the way, I've spent many months in those two as rented cars and like them both) But in the Versa Hatch the deep well behind the rear seats is great for that kind of shopping--like a mini trunk.

As time goes on I'm more and more impressed with how well thought out the Versa Hatch is.

Agree with all you've said but there are two things that could make the Versa near perfect. A sliding rear seat like the Tilda and a fold flat front seat like the Matrix and the Fit. Maybe someday.

How flat do you want it? If you take off the head restraint and pull the seat forward, you can lay the seat back and it's flush with the back seat. Nice for sleeping, if you're not too tall, and you can fold down the back seat if you are!
