ok cut the crap, im tired of looking through all of these write ups and finding nothing that i wanted to. i have done the front and i am currently in the process of doing the rear swap on my 98 kouki. i only have one question and it goes to someone that has comepleted the rear swap with working e brake. i need to know which cables to buy. i called the closes nissan dealer to me and i got a price for the rear cables, at $110 a peice thats pricey to me. which cables work, and does any one have pictures.
now on a brighter note, this part is for anyone asking questions that you wished to have cleared up, and if anyone can brake the posting pictures down to me barney style, ill even post as many pictures up that might help anyone out in the future.
i have 300 zx uprights and a full rear z brake conversion minus cables. i took my wheel off and looked at my 240 upright, and the 300zx upright, and they only have one difference in them, which would be one peice at the right side facing the rear of the car, it have a ball koint for a stabilizer bar, where the 240sx upright has a normaly bolt and nut stabilizer. i also tried to see if the main peice for the internal e brake would work, and it doesnt fit into the 240sx upright. simple fix, im taking it to a local machine shop, who i have do alot of my work, and have it machined slightly and it will go straight in, no problem, from there, its stainless steel rear 240 to 300 brake lines, $80 from heavythrottle.com and new rear brake pads, new brembro rotors from nopi, $24 dollars a peice not slotted or drilled, just plain old rotors for now, and then the last problem, the e brake cables, as soon as i have this problem solved, ill have front and rear working 300zx brakes, sinple as that, the front was 300zx turbo front 5 lug rotors from nopi at the same price as $24 a peice. hopefully this will clear up any questions others will have and as soon as we get word on the correct e brake cables, people can look at this and get the exact info they need.
98 240sx, skyline gtr vlsd, 6 bolt rear axles, skyline hubs, front and rear z brakes.
