Post

Throughout my childhood, I was always about Nissan and the Z's. About a month ago, I had the opportunity to impulse purchase a two-owner, rust free, bone stock 91 300ZX TT that spent more time in storage than being enjoyed the past few years. Since winter is coming, I've decided to go down the road of yanking the motor, doing the 120K kit as well as the full gasket/seal/hose replacement, and get this car as clean and leak free as possible.

I've spent the last few years doing small work on my Subarus, but when this ZX popped up for sale, I took the dive and jumped into the difficult and expensive world of Z32's. It's incredible the amount of resources and walkthroughs there are for nearly everything with the car...winter is going to be busy.

Looking forward to keeping up on the Nissan board and getting some inspiration for things to do while the motor is out!

Winter Plans:
Replace Autolite plugs from previous owner with correct NGK (COMPLETE)
120K timing belt kit (sitting in spare bedroom)
As much of the OEM gasket kit from Z1 as possible (sitting in spare bedroom)
Replace all the hoses I can while the engine is out (determined after engine pull)
New EFI wiring harness
Replace the IACV/air regulator/knock sensors/other systems with new OEM
New style NISMO 740cc injectors
Perform as many of the deletes/relocations I can figure out
Replace old foam spoiler with Kuruma OE style and have it paint matched (the final piece)
Possibly replace front bumper

VERY NICE!
I've always had respect for the guys that take the plunge into the Z32 world.

Are 740cc injectors stock size? That seems awfully large to me. If not, how are you planning on controlling them?

I've always wanted a TT Z32, but then I open the hood, and see all that glorious VG30DETT goodness filling ever square inch of the engine bay and say, NO WAY IN HELL! I thrown enough s*** working on my little CA18DET in an S14 and it has MILES of room compared to what's in those things. Great cars though. Congrats on the purchase!

Well, I started the engine pull and decided to hell with putting it back in. Going with a built/forged LQ4/88mm turbo/TH400 swap instead.

Lots have changed!
