well i picked up a fujitsubo 3" catback for $50 from a shop, it had a couple holes in it, so i just put some muffler weld **** on it, hopefully that does the trick.. but i was wondering would it sound better to put in a cat converter gutted in? or just buy a test pipe and put that in? i want a deep sound, and yes i have ka24e n/a motor lol

heres some pics maybe someone know what kind of fujitsubo this is?

Dont run a gutted cat, just put a test pipe up. JDM exhausts have to meet JASMA certification, youve probably already seen the logo on the muffler. That is to be certified that the dB of the exhaust is below a certain dB level, amongst other things in the way of build quality and safety standards. Alot of people who don't know think it is a name brand. It is similar to CARB for us in a way. In other words, their exhausts have to be quiet, quieter than ours. You'll like it Im sure from what you said you are looking for in sound. Ive had a JDM exhaust and loved the sound.

You came up on a great deal. Fujitsubo is my favorite exhaust company. Nice smooth clean sound. Not to loud but you hear it when you get on it.

put a cat on it. gutting the cat is retarted. it will sound fine with a cat, plus you wont have to freak out when u go for emission testing. (if u hav emissions)

megan sells a chambered test pipe which tones down the exhaust sound. i highly recommend this.

Ditch the cat. It's 18yrs old and it's not doing **** to clean up your emissions anymore. Get a test pipe and be done with it. That is probably holding back some flow as well because of it being clogged.

there is no performance benefits with a gutted cat its actually worse than test pipe or a normal cat. nice find on the exhaust tho, and i vote for using a test pipe.

Right dude.... Maybe you should take a trip back to grammar school and learn to read, because obviously your reading skills suck or aren't present. I didn't say anything about gutting the cat. I said, and I quote "Ditch the cat". As in remove completely. Retards, I swear...

I would recommend a high flow cat..catco?? i run a cat with my exhaust and from what feedback ive recieved its a damn good sound with my megan cat system and ive also had a ka with a cat delete and it sounded s***ty and no power gain was gained, i swear the back pressure that was lost seemed to make it slower

Of course it did. No backpressure on an NA car is dumb. An NA car utilizes the backpressure to help with exhaust scavenging... So, by removing all backpressure on an NA, it makes it lose low-end trq.

right so why is everybody telling this guy to get rid of it, its stupid. If anything just get a high flow car but the outcome is not phenomenal, let me tell yall. For real dude invest this money some where else

Everyone is saying get rid of it because new cats arent cheap. Most people around here choose the cheap route and just throw a test pipe on there... What's lost in the lower RPM band is gained in the upper, where most JDM tyte drifts spend most of their time.

a ka doesnt have much top end anyways so taking power away from the point of the powerband where the advantage is to gain in other area's where power is not a plus for this motor and having to deal with a raspy exhaust sound is just retarded bc you could save for a lightwheel flywheel and get much more power difference than a cat delete. On top of that this is a ka24e, i dont believe much spectacular drifitng, more than less wheel spin will come from this car, so make it clean and crisp until its ready to be brought up to par with the performance world
