i just installed my fujita intake today and i have this vibration problem, not sure if its even a problem but does anyone else feels the same vibration? and this is the also the first thing i actually installed onto my car by myself, so i hope i didn't f anything up

also i used my oem clamps because the fujita clamps were so annoying to screw in, it had some type of rubber in the screw i dont know why so i gave up on using those clamps. could this be why?

i drove it around for like 45 min on the highway and all and i feel that vibration when i gas. and shiet its pretty loud, but im hoping thats the right kind of noise coming from my intake.

this was my first diy on my car so any tips would be great!

thanks

you know i actually bought the same intake weeks ago and installed it and noticed the same problem.

it seemed like when i accelerated from a stop it made this weird vibration i felt in the gas pedal but it only did it for a brief second like 2 or 3 quick vibrations but went away. i don't have my car at the moment but i know what u mean.

its strange, i followed all the instructions in the box and used all parts it told me too.

I never had an issue with mine, and it's been installed for over 6 months now.

I had the same problem with my intake after the installation. I inspected it and saw that it was touching the fuse box I believe, so make sure its not rubbing against anything.

I simply turned it to make sure its sitting on its own, and now no vibration.

I have never felt that vibration you guys are talking about, but I've heard of it from other people. It's not limited to just the Fujita intake. Did you guys remember to disconnect your battery beforehand?

Now this is something I can help you with! Fujita changed the design of their mounting bracket for the 2.5 a few months ago...but never bothered to change their instructions! I just took the top-most screw out of the bracket that holds the fusebox in place and screwed the rubber bumper into there. It's the perfect location for it (I'm pretty sure that's where Fujita intended for us to place it) and nothing is even remotely loose or rubbing on anything.

Well, in theory disconnecting the battery resets the ECU (which is something you're traditionally supposed to do when modding anything that affects a/f ratio). However, with ECUs being as sophisticated as they are nowadays, I'm not so sure that it's as important. I still do it just as a matter of habit and I haven't had any problems so far!

Try disconnecting your battery (just the neg terminal), let it sit for about a minute, reconnect it and turn the car on. Let it idle for about a minute or so then take it for a spin.Might work...might not. It's not gonna hurt to try though!

Disconnection of our batteries does not reset the ECU, its flash based, it'll f up your radio though!

figured it out, it was because the pipe was hitting the brake fluid container.

thanks all!

Sorry to post again but nobody answered my other thread in the exhaust section. ESP, how did you go about removing the top fuse box screw? Did you have to go up and under the wheel well?

Thats absolutely false. The ECU in this car is a learning based computer program. As you drive the ECU records and adjusts things idle air intake, a/f mixture ratios, and throttle position. Taking the negative off the car reset all this to relearn with the larger intake and volume of air being applied.

You do not need to reset it if you just change the exhaust since the only difference is you are letting more air flow out faster. The calculation of a/f mixture is already done and recorded.

The only time you would reset it is when you do actual engine work suck as fuel injectors, intake, headers/manifold, etc...

Thanks, Blake! I knew I was right...

You open the hood and take the bolt out with your socket wrench. Seriously...it's the uppermost screw holding in the fuse box to the strut tower. Just take a look at where the mounting bracket on your intake is and find the closest place to screw that puppy in.

I did that but the nut comes out and the screw itself still sits there. That was the first thing i tried before i went and posted on here haha. So its basically a riveted stick holding the fusebox in without the nut at the end. It wouldn't come out.

Yes that exact bolt. The intake will fit perfectly on the bolt but when i removed the nut the riveted part was still in there, i couldn't pull it out. Its as if the screw was on the other side under the wheel well or something. I don't know how to take it out.

Waaaaaaait a sec.......I'm beginning to remember something like that...

Keep in mind that it's been quite a few months since I did it myself, and I've been sick for the last week so my thoughts are naturally a bit muddled anyway.

IIRC, leave the bolt that's in there and just screw/twist the rubber bumper onto it....or something like that. It's really dark out right now, I'm exhausted, I've been drinking, and I can't find any batteries for my flashlight so at the moment I can't take a look to see how I did it. I've got a shoot tomorrow morning, but after that I'll have a look-see and give you a better idea of how it's done. Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment!
