Wow that was easy. I went out to the garage at 3pm came in at 5pm. I also rotated my tires and did an oil/filter change during the 2 hours.

One question...

Does it look better with or without the cheesy plastic cover on the engine. I was thinking I'd like it better without but now I think I like it better with.

Thanks,

Jeff

Good job Jeff. I think it looks good both way. Maybe paint it in different color just an idea.

Thanks guys,

I think I will keep the cover on. I'm only going to have the car 3 years so probably won't paint the cover. I was thinking I'd stick it in the attic so it will be nice and clean for the next owner. The plastic intake manifold is UGLY, if it was aluminum I'd probably leave the cover off.

You could get an aftermarket Plenum...I'm sure they make polished one's.

Nice work Jeff! You're going to love the sound of the Fujita... it really gives that throaty grumble when you romp it! I would definately keep the cover on as I think it just looks better... not cheesy at all. Now that you have the intake, you are going to be itching for the Gen. 2 Stillen dual catback exhaust. Kinda pricey, but I've heard it sounds amazing.

Congrats! Dave

NO WAY,

I already swore to my wife I would NOT modify this car after the Hemi fiasco! Only reason I bought this is the $20 stock air filters!

I have a 65 Jeep to work on.... you can see it kind of in this picture

Was it easy to install? I've got a F5 in the mail, dunno if I should just install it or take it to the garage.

Sound good?

you can install this in about 20 min. All you need is a 10mm and 11mm socket.

I"M sure a member will help you.

I dont know why people convert the Stock Cold air intake system to a aftermarket hot air system?

the Stock intake grabs fresh air from the grill. It's protected with plastic to prevent hot air from entering the throttle body.

the only time I see another intake grabbing hot air from the engine is the cars with Turbo kits. But the Air is cooled thru a "intercooler" before entering the throttle body.

If you check the Stille is getting most of the air from the bumper(where the original gets it) due to the design of the heatshield.

You can see the opening on the front of he filter that brings air from the grill to the filter and a smaller tube on the bottom that moves air from the bottom of the car up to the filter.

But I'm guessing you don't have an 07 or you would know this.
