Does anyone know what the fujita intake filter's specs are? I'm going to buy a new filter and I have no idea what they are. Also, are there any suggestions on replacement filters? I have heard mixed reviews about k&n and that's what I think I'm going to go with.

Hey so im new to this whole modding aspect and I've been trying to get as much info on intakes. One problem I did see is this weather proofing. No one seems to mention it so Im not sure if any of you more experienced guys know if thats all bull s*** or not. A friend of mine has a scion tc and started off with a CAI and changed over to a short ram because he was scared of this very problem. Also has anyone installed a short ram on their V? What advantages did you have?

the short intake is more for cosmetics on the versa, not much if any performance increase due to sucking up warm air from engine bay into the engine.

If you are worried about sucking up rain, there is way to prevent that from happening.

you'd have to go through some pretty deep water to jeopardize the CAI on the V. I wouldn't be concerned, maybe if its lowered a little more but even then just avoid deep puddles that would submerge your bumper lol

Simple and straightforward. I bought mine used so no instructions. It was easy as long as you use common sense and do not cut corners/shortcuts.

Taking the Stock setup took a bit of effort though. Best advice I can give you is be careful with the MAF sensor and its wiring, fragile and expensive to replace.

General rule of thumb for Cold Air Intakes:

If a puddle is big enough to forcefully slow down your car (you know what I'm talking about) you run the risk of hydrolocking your engine (for the n00b's it means you have to rebuild your engine). Don't worry about rain or small puddles.

To prevent this:

A. Dodge deep puddles.B. If you drive through the deep puddle, put your car in neutral so you don't suck air up your intake.C. Buy a special adapter to divert water. I forget the name, but you'll lose some HP.

Bonus: You're not going to see huge HP gains when modding the Versa. I'm sorry, but you're not going to be able to feel much of a difference with ~5HP. Unless you just want a better sounding engine, I vote for modding the suspension or sound.
