Hi, New to the site. I've bought the car mentioned in the subject line but it doesn't arrive untill Thursday. The first vehicle I've bought for 17 years. My last one was a Nissan but a 1991 Nissan Safari lwb hitop 4x4 that I used for staying out in the bush hunting pigs and deer and fly fishing for trout and salmon in New Zealand's outback. I sold the 4x4 and used it as a deposit on the Fuga. Really looking forward to getting the wee beastie and having a play. I'll drive it for awhile and then decide what I want to do to it.
I live on a 1200 acre farm way out in the country and the road I live on is used by the local car clubs for drag racing and speed record attempts. It's dead straight for about 8 kilometres.
The Fuga is pearl white has 103,000k's on the clock which I think is about 64,000 miles. It cost $14,500nzd ($10,145usd) which is a pretty good price for a car of this spec down here but I do have a few questions if thats okay.
It's designation is "vip" what is different on this car compared to other Fuga 450GT's (M45's)?
Is there anything I should look out for straight away with it?
I'd like to hit the ground running with it so I'd love to have a look at an owners manual, if anyone has one or can point me to where one would be?
I'd like to do an oil and filter change as well as any other filters it has. Anything else you would recommend I do immediately.
I've been wandering around your site for a couple of days. There's a wealth of information here and a lot of knowledgeable people. Definitely the right place for a newbie like me.

Cheers Matt

Welcome to NICO !
Glad you found us. Cheers for your purchase, mate!
Not sure of the difference between the VIP and stock 450GT but there may be a member who knows and will respond.
In regards to what else to check aside from OIL / filter ... I would check all fluids including brakes, power steering, and coolant. If you can't confirm they have been changed, they are due for one. That car is known as the M45 here in the states and there have been reports of oil consumption so best to keep an eye on it and check levels between changes.
And, of course - we need pictures when it arrives ! There is an FAQ thread in this forum to walk you through posting pics.

Welcome aboard. It sounds like a wonderful price for a great car.
Not sure what the VIP model has, but I'm guessing DVD playback and reclining rear seats like the USDM cars have in the premium package. Please post pictures when you get a chance to.

To get a copy of the manual, just type in "2009 fuga 450gt owners manual" into Google. When I do that, what I see is an infiniti manual - very similar but not quite exact for the Japan market models.

Another thing that will help you with the ownership, whether you repair your own cars or just are curious about how things work. Those can be found here:

Thanks for the replies. Yes I will definitely check all the fluids. I'm not sure if the car will have a service history booklet or not. Really looking forward to getting it. In the dealer photos it looks pristine and the AA report said it was in "extremely good condition". It looks like it has no mods on it at all. Next weekend is another long one for us Kiwi's and Aussies, ANZAC day, when we remember the fallen soldiers. I'll have time to have a good look around the car after attending one of the dawn services.
Will post pics as soon as I can.
I'm not allowed to post a url link but if you want to see the Fugas or any other type of car or parts here down under type in the web address "Trademe" without the quotation marks and finish it with ".co.nz" and search for Fugas and remember the Kiwi dollar isn't as strong as yours...enjoy!

Do you think it could be that smomeone outfitted their Fuga with the VIP accessories (cup holder trays, headrest cushions, curtains, etc.) and is selling it advertised as VIP with those accessories? Just a guess

Thanks WillV,
That's the closest I've got to finding out what makes a vip a vip, cup holder trays, headrest cushions and curtains, thank's for that. I'll find out this week, delivery was delayed as the area that the car is coming down from has had a couple of major storms go through.
