to run 15-18psi on a garrett gt-28r with a .60 A/R on the compressor and a .64 on the turbine side, what size fuel injectors do you guys think i need? im having trouble finding some good 550cc ish injectors and was wondering if i could get away with some 450cc ones. im guessing not. im trying to make this cheap because a bank error has left me a little short, and some unexpected expenses have left me even shorter...

Having to buy a new motor will leave you even poorer. Buy 550's or bigger.

It's not that easy time. it depends on brand also. I've got 550cc NISMO injectors (made by bosch I assume) and the plugs are pink. You'll have to do it on a cc or lb/hr basis. Don't try to do it by color.

i know. i was just wondering what flow these cosworth injectors i found were. they had a dark green top and were supposed to be good for 330+bhp with a chip and some other stuff in a sierra cosworth. anyway, im having a really hard time finding injectors in the size i need for anything less than an arm and a leg. what ive found is that the cheapest price i can get for injectors is some bosch 160lb/hr slugs at $42 each. im just afraid they would be really overkill. im looking for something in the 600-750cc or 80-95lb/hr range and am not coming up with much.

Question Tim,

What are you going to control the injectors with; and don't tell me a super AFC! Super AFC possibly can somewhat help, but I don't trust those little black boxes with my engines (Just me). Anything over 500cc and you'll need more than a super AFC or an emanage and JWT don't exceed 72 lb/hr and I don't think they've done a program for a CA18DET ecu (at least to my immediate knowledge).

1600cc injectors are worthless on a ca18! Anyone who tries them will have a nastily idle rpm just to keep the engine running. The biggest we can use sanely is 1000cc and even that's pushing it as it will support in excess of 700hp on a 110 CID or an 1809cc engine.

yeah. i know. im just annoyed with the rediculous prices of these things. yes, i am going to use that safcII to tune it, haha. i dont trust it either which is why im going to sacrifice power out the yin-yang for safety's sake. i did a really rough calculation of injector sizing and i came up with needing between 72 and 94lb/hr or 550-720cc. i didnt know the density of gasoline though, so i had to make a best guess using the density of water. i like the look of some of those 680cc injectors on ebay, though i'd rather not spend $320 if i can avoid it. im running the SWAT ecu and ill see what it can really do in awhile, ill just make the finer ajustments with the SAFCII.

also, does anyone know the part number of the rx-7 turbo injectors (both the 550 and 720cc part numbers would be great). and is there any difference in impedance between the s4 and s5 models? thanks!!
