Fuel Pump noise

I noticed my fuel pump buzzing when I turned off. I opened the gas cap there was a lot pressure let off. It was like a balloon deflating. Then the buzz went away. What cha think?

Are you sure it's your fuel pump? The antenna motor is pretty loud, and sometimes mistaken for the fuel pump. Same thing with the ABS pump when it starts making noise.

And the fuel tank will make a hissing sound when you open your gas cap. The fuel tank pressurizes under normal operating conditions, and that's what it's supposed to do.
