Do you guys wait till your tank is empty, the gas light comes on or maybe a quarter tank left? Just wondering What`s best to do since i usually drop a 20 in when it gets to half tank on my pathfinder. The gas gauge has a tendency to drop twice as fast once it passes half tank, but the V isn`t prone to that i see...

Usually I fill up close to the 1/4 tank mark. More accurately, as close to 300 miles as I reasonably can get.

Usually when the light comes on.

As I live only 2 miles from the Gulf Of Mexico, from June to the end of October I try to not get below a half tank.

Usually when the light comes on, as there still is about 2 1/2 gallons left or 10 liters, you are still good for 50 miles or 80 kms anyways at that point.

I fill up every weekend when I go grocery shopping. Usually it's at 1/2 or just 1/4 empty (3/4 full).

Today here in Montreal gas is 1.14 CDN per liter = 5.18 CDN per Imperial gallon or 4.46 CDN for a small yankee gallon. That would make it about 4.06 U.S funds for a small yankee gallon.

A yankee gallon rounded off = 3.90 liters

an Imperial gallon rounded off = 4.6 liters.

Sorry Michel Kenny,

My message was to follow the above aforementionned quote:

I usually look to fill it up when it goes under 1/4 tank, but the light seems to come on very quickly once it reads under 1/4 left. I'm putting between 10 and 11 gallons US in it to fill it up.

I'm paying $2.59 per gallon for 87 octane at some name brand stations I pass by when I'm out around town. The stations within 2 miles of my house have been charging $.20 per gallon more than the stations 5 miles or more away so I just fill up whenever I'm somewhere else.

We fill up when we find the cheapest gas. It might be 1/4 empty, 1/2 empty or have the warning light on.

We paid $2.90 yesterday in NW Oklahoma.

I always fill up when I've got 1/4 tank left. I tried to get my girlfriend to follow this rule. To date (we've been going out three years) she's called me to come bring her gas on the side of the rode 6 times.

Gas fluctuates between 2.50 and 2.60 where I am in Georgia.

I fill up every three days because of my commute schedule - always under 1/4 tank, but not always before the light comes on. (Usually 350-380 miles.)

For the last week I've been paying $2.40 per gallon. I can understand Hawaii being so high, but I don't understand how gas piped to SC from Oklahoma is $.50 per gallon cheaper than it is in Oklahoma!

Over time you spend the same amount to travel the same distance. It is just a mind game to use a twenty to fill up.

I fill up after the light turns on or after 400 miles which ever comes 1st. A fill up is ussually under $40.

I start thinking about looking for a gas station around 330 miles...that is usually right around when the light turns on. I get real serious about it at 350.

$2.96 for 10% ethanol in Nebraska yesterday.
