Ok here is the situation that I am in. I just finished removing all of the emisions and i am left with the fuel tank breather line that runs from the tank to the carbon canister. I see that there is a check valve in the line but I am trying to find out where it is located before I remove it. My thought is that if it is right outside of the tank i could cut the line under the car and put a breather filter on it and tuck it into the frame rail? Does anybody have experience doing this or have a better solution? Just to let you know I have a 1991 hatch.

this is the diagram that I was able to find but I'm just trying to find out where the valve is located at. I have heard that if you cut it before this valve that it will leak fuel when the tank is full. Can anybody help me with this?

I don't remember any line from carbon canister to the fuel tank. There was a hard line from the front driver's side of engine bay, that went to the firewall and over to the passenger side then ran down by the fuel/brake lines. But it was open and not connected to anything back there, I just removed it with all the other emission stuff.

I always cut them close to the original location of the charcoal canister, no fuel leaks of any sort. Only thing is every now and again you will smell the excess fuel vapors but generally only on very hot days.

I just left the hardline alone after I did my SR swap. The damn thing would spit some gas from time to time if my tank is full and I decide to go drifting. Didnt even realize theres a check valve on it.

I just removed the hard line in the engine bay. there should be a soft hose section that connects the hard line in the engine compartment to the hard line that runs to the tank. i just removed it at that softection and have never had a problem.
