Today while driving my car I noticed a strange clunk sound in the rear of my car while going over uneven surfaces. I figured that it was something loose in the suspension but I looked at everything and didnt find anything wrong. So, I bounced the rear of the car up and down a couple of times and I notices it was actually a loud sloshing sound coming from the fuel tank. My question is do these tanks have a plastic baffle in them ? And if so, is it common for them to come loose. That is what it seems like to me. I have a full tank of gas now, but I have owned the car for 3 1/2 years and never heard it do that before. It's a '90 model like my signature says BTW.

There's a small metal box type thing the fuel pump sits in to ensure that it's always got a supply of fuel to pump. Not common at all...

This is just and suggestion, but maybe its a sub-frame bushing. I have a salvage car and on the side it was wrecked when I turn at certin angles is makes a clunck and I was told "messed up subframe bushing."
