fuel tank/fuel gauge question... with pics...

ok i have searched and read somethings before making this post.my fuel gauge has been reading below E for almost a year and i finally decided to dive into the problem.

specs91 hatch 240sxwalbro pump

removed fuel pump assembly.and fount this piece of sheet metal broken in the tank... and not no idea what it is.

this picture is in the fuel tank looking toward the driver side..

im just wonding what that metal is.

I have no idea what the piece of metal is but I can solve your problem for you.

By a new level sender. This is always the problem. They use cheap little resistors at the end of a float arm. Something always fails, usually the little resistor strip.

Replace it and you'll be good!!!

that broken piece of metal is a broken baffle see the holes in it it like that to reduce sloshing of fuel in the tank. whats that tube i see attached to it

I had that same problem with my s13 and my fuel gauge still didnt work.
