I was reading on one of the sites how to do a leak down test on the fuel system. But let me know if this is about the same or if I have to do it another way. I have a fuel pressure gauge right after the fuel filter when the car is running it is at like 40psi. But when i turn the car off it goes down to like 20psi(yes i know it will go down with out the car running)But how much is to much? The reason I ask is that when my car sits over night it is real hard to start in the morning and i can smell gas. So is one of the injectors bad? And is this a seal problem or a internal problem? If it is internal problem could i have these injectors rebulit by RC Eng. or would I have to buy new ones? What can you upgrade the injectors to with out having to have the computer remapped? Or could i buy after market one and control it with a APEXi AFC?Thanks

hook up the fuel gauge as you metioned. use something to pinch off the return line. turn the key to the on position but do not start the car. then shut the key off and quickly pinch off the fuel line between the gauge and the fuel filter. you should loose no pressure when you do a leak down this way. by doing this you are completely trapping whatever fuel pressure your pump puts out in the rail. if it drops you have a leaking injector. you have to be quick when pinching off the supply line because you dont wanna confuse pump bleed off with your test results. now if it doesent drop this way you know your injectors are ok so you will need to determine if your loss is due to a bad FP regulator or a bad check valve in your fuel pump.

I did the test when I turned it on it was at about 45psi I check it about a hour later it was at 35psi, so I assume one of the injectors is bad. I talked to someone and they said the stock SR injectors are a direct bolt in. Correct? These are side feed correct.(96 240) There size is 370 I belive. Now could I use a SR fuel rail or is the spacing different? Also with these injectors I could run a Apexi S-AFC and tune correct? Any help would be and will be helpful
