Since I was a slacker and didnt swap my FP when I did my swap and my BF is doing some shopping for Xmas..... naturally a FPR and FP came to mind. Short of the nismo, what other FPRs have people had good luck with?

I will dump the old fuel filter at the same time. what else might I need to upgrade assuming Im running everything at the stock levels?

Soon as the FAL Flex-o-Lite fans hit my door I can finally install them and wire my AC compressor.

Also have a oil catch can laying in my corner waiting to be installed..... just need to find the time

If you are going to keep the stock injectors and keep everything stock, don't even waste your time with an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. But if you absolutely must change your fpr, the NISMO unit is your best choice in terms of ease of installation, function and cost.

And as for time, I can understand because I have very little time to play with whilst trying to be a professional throughout the day, a father and family man in the evening, and then try to squeeze something car related in with whatever time is left is challenging by itself, so you are not alone. I have a gang of CA related stuff going on at one time, but I'm only one person, so I get it done as best as I can with whatever time there's left throughout my busy life and a day.

thanks again BB

so looks like the nismo is the way to go.....

I dont need to do a FPR when Im running everything at stock levels? Based on the write up float did, it said they both should be done at the same time. if it isnt a huge deal and the stock FPR will work then might as well leave that on the back burner for now as there is plenty of other things to do.

yeah i know the time thing still have a FMIC to install as well, got to find time to break out the sawzillia before I can play with that

The stock fpr can support as much 500hp in most applications. People mostly change them because they feel it's the right thing to do when upgrading, but in all actuality, the stock fpr is very well built and will not faulter. I've had one NISMO fpr fail on me and it took a trip to the dyno to point it out as the car would go lean in the higher rpm range no matter how much I fatten-up the fuel curve.

thanks again BB

looks like money can be better spent else where. thank you so much for the info.

i would be so annoyed if the FPR failed on me. bet that became a real expensive trip to the dyno

I replaced my FPR because I was running very rich and needed to be able to manually adjust my fuel pressure. Sometimes the stock fpr can be worn out, which is a main reason members have for upgrading. It was several years between getting the walbro and upgrading the fpr for me, which I guess is okay, considering. It wasnt that my car was getting too little fuel like Dee, it was getting too much for my current application. I really upgraded because I got my NISMO unit used for $25. Its really only necessary if your fpr is shot.

Dee I will NOT be selling my ca18 next.

Good to hear! This selling of the CA thing is moreso from the newbies or guys who fail to read and/or listen. I just sit back and read and watch the complaints, help when I can and wait for the sell. So far I'm 5 for 5 and I have a feeling there's going to be more in the next month. Just continue to learn about the standalone you're using, apply what you've learned and yourengine will last you a long-long time.

And ca18detgabby, luckily that outting at the dyno didn't hurt a thing. I knew something was seriously wrong after the 3rd pull and the car only put out a whopping 258whp when a normal pull for my car starts at or around 310+whp. The NISMO regulator was not buildingfuel pressureno matter how high I cranked it. While the car was on the dyno, I changed the regulator back to a stock one I had had in the trunk of car, fired the thing back up and my first pull with the stock regulator netted me 309whp @ 13psi of boost and would later end up with 362whp @ 22psi of boost while being very moddest on the timing side of the house.

in due time...... the KA was on its last legs so I had to get that resolved before I did anything to the suspension.

im not going to waste money just doing springs....... will be going with some coil overs in the near future.

If you want some barely used brutally stiff coils let me know... I have Megan tracks on my car right now and I'm looking to move up to some Stance gr+ pro's in the near future.
