1991 Nissan Stanza, automatic.I just replaced all four fuel injectors, as well as, the electrical connectors to each injector, because they had become brittle over time/heat. The car started and ran fine. The following morning, it was slightly hesitant to start, but it cranked up and I drove it to work. It ran fine. At lunch time, again it was hesitant to start, but again cranked up. At the end of the day, it was hesitant to start but did crank again. While driving home, I had to stop at a traffic light, and while idleing, the car stalled and would not restart. The engine would turn over, but not crank. My instincts tell me that perhaps it is fuel related. Perhaps the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator or a clogged fuel filter. Any suggestions?

why did you replace the injectors? It is possible your split a seal when installing the injectors and it is flooding the cyl when the pump is running. when you say it is hesitant to crank what do you mean? as in "slow turning over""cranks normal but does not start up" " chugs when cranking" (meaning engine revolution turns at normal speed then seems to almost freeze then pick up to normal speed again)

Thanks for your reply. The reason I replaced the injectors, was that two of the injectors were leaking, so I replaced all the rubber gaskets and o-rings for all four injectors, but the injectors still leaked. So instead of just replacing two of the four injectors, I replaced all four because they were the original. After the problem with the starting began, I checked the Fuel Pump relay and fuse, and both were fine. I changed the fuel filter and so far it seems to have solved the starting problem. The fuel filter was only 2 to 3 yrs old, and did not fill overly heavy. But perhaps there was enough material to block fuel flow to the injectors. Thanks again for your input.
