My 1991 240sx has had a running/starting issue for awhile now. When I first bought it about 6 mo ago I had to replace the "#1 " fuel injector, (calling it number 1, going from front to back). It was dumping fuel into the cylinder and pouring out the muffler. Since then, it was starting fine, but always had a bit of a vibration while running, at all rpm's, felt like it had a slight misfire. Recently it has had an intermittent starting issue. Cranks but would not start. Seemed to be fuel, ok spark. For some reason, is I pulled the 1st two injector electrical conn. it would start, seemed like on 2 cylinders only. I would immediately shut if down, reconnect the plugs and restart, crappy idle but would run with a little gas, then smooth out and be ok for like a few days or so. I thought maybe it was an electrical fuel delivery issue?! Now..... I had the same starting issue. got it running, pulled plug wires one by one to see if it dropped each cylinder. All ok except for "#4", did not make any difference when plug wire is pulled. checked spark plug, soaked with fuel. I figured a bad injector. Swapped #1 and #4 to diagnose. Now I can't even get the car to run long enough to pull plug wires. I try my usual pull a couple connectors trick and nothing really. Will not start. I feel that I have a bad injector still, but wonder why it won't even start, figured it would start and run with a bad injector, just run crappy and smoke. Sorry so long, but wanted to be clear. Thanks.
