I am not driving my car that much lately. I may sit in the garage for weeks at a time. Considering this I was thinking of adding Fuel stabilizer (branded STA-BIL) and keeping the tank full, so as to delay any fuel degradation.
Has anybody had any experience with this product? Any reason why I shouldn't do this?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Works great. Keep your tank full, and start and warm up periodically if you can.

That product is made more for lawn mowers, however, it is much better then nothing in the gas. I don't want to look like an Amsoil bandwagoner, but I have been using their product in 300ZX which gets very little mileage overall and it seems to work very well. 1/2 a bottle in November and another 1/2 in Feb and by the April the rainy season is over and the car is run at least weekly.

I've been using this product in mowers and tractors for few years now to preserve fuel during the winter.. So far, knock on wood, it has kept my mowers out of the shop for the springtime carb rebuild.. I don't know how it works, other than it seems to keep stale fuel from causing carb problems.. Nowdays I add some to gas can each time I fill it up to too keep going year round.

One winter when I knew I wouldn't be driving the Civic for a couple of months, I added some to a tank of gas.. Not sure if it was necesary but it certainly didn't hurt it..

I can give you a product review now on the Amsoil product, I didn't start up my Z for a couple of weeks, kept the battery charged with my trickle charger but didn't start it. God knows how many gallons of gas were in there to start (gas gauge sending unit needs replacing) but the car fired up and ran a 70 mile round trip like it had been a daily driver. I will pick more of this up next time I'm at the Amsoil dealer.... I have also been using their fuel cleaner in my cars now, they make excellent products.
