A couple of months ago I got my 240 from my brother and immediately was having problems with it shutting down in traffic and then not starting at all. I changed the fuel pump and filter and ran some Lucas Fuel system cleaner and it finally started again. Last week, I was driving and noticed there was hesitation when I was in 4th and 5th gear when accelerating sometimes. I stopped at a gas station to fuel up and now the car won't start. When the car was towed home, I checked a couple of things and noticed a fuel smell in the 1st spark plug. I think it may be a leaking fuel injector but I am not totally sure. I want to start making other improvements to the car, but I need to make sure my car runs well before I do anything else. If anybody has any input it would greatly be appreciated.

Did you do a tune up? New sparks, spark plug wires? Next oil change you do try sea foam cleans up gunk in the engine. Check all your injectors for cracks or anything you can. Check the simple things first. You'll kick yourself if you do a big project to figure out its a small little problem. Let us know

The spark plugs and wires were brand new when I got the car about 4 months ago. I want to try the seafoam but I don't remember what you have to change out after you do it.

I'm still trying to figure out how the 1st spark plug has a fuel smell and what might be causing this. I have just replaced the wires again and I bought new plugs but I don't want to put them in without figuring out where the fuel is coming from. The 1st plug still has the fuel smell in it and the 2nd plug seems like it is wet but not fuel and possibly oil. Seafoam was mentioned but since my car won't start I don't think that will help. This is really frustrating and any help would greatly be appreciated.

EDIT- I forgot to mention that the car will turn over and it seems like it wants to start but won't. I don't think it is the battery because that was replaced about 2 months ago, the lights and radio still work fine.
