My Q45 has 120.000 miles and every now and then it smells like gas under the hood and also I have a rough idle at dead stop. It also seems to be lacking on quick take offs. Any suggestions on what this might be.. I had the oil and oil filter changed, along with air filter and fuel filter.I did replace the spark plugs but I went with some cheaper plugs than the $11 $12.00 plugs $$$ later I'll get proper ones.

Welcome,

On this site you will find all you need to know about repairing your Q. Use the red search button to search in post bodies and archived threads.

Read this about chain guides zerothread?id=25201

Read this about spark plugs http://www.q45.org/sparkplugs.html

I'm sure others will chime in about cheap spark plugs.

Mine leaks when cold. Follow the fuel lines on the passenger side to where the connect to a steel line under the plenum. Look at both ends of the steel lines to see if it is leaking. You might able to tighten the clamp with a long screwdriver or wrench.

All with OEM, we hope.

You simply must use OEM NGK plugs or the engine may be destroyed. They are occasionally on special from one of our great sponsors http://www.infinitipartsusa.com or check http://www.sparkplugs.com

You need to pull up a chair and start reading at least an hour a night for a while. Start with all previous posts by Q45tech.

You will next be contemplating the under plenum hose and KS job.

But after you change your plugs, read the timing chain guide article in the Articles Forum.

Welcome to NICO.

And check the trunk of your car. You will find no letter Y in Infiniti.
