Does hose from the fuel rail go to a remote fuel pressure regulator somewhere else in the engine bay? If not then you need to buy one, cause that is your issue. No fuel pressure, means little to no fuel in the motor and would most definitely cause your motor not to start.

where does the vac line on top of the FPR(that thing you took pictures of) go?

it may have failed, it happens.... you can get a Nismo or other universal.

why is it that you think the FPR is the reason it wont start?

The vac line is on the butterfly valve thing, look to the left and you see there is an adapter on the fuel rail and just a fuel hose coming off of it. Unless he has a remote fpr then he doesn't have one.

There are many fpr's you can get. Nismo, SARD, or just a generic universal one will work fine too.

i copied the picture with the stock fpr from the thread with the s14 ca18

the other is a picture form my car.i just got the engine to where it will start with starting fluid but it wont keep running because there is no pressure in the fuel rail therefore not giving the engine any fuel.

i tracked down the line and it goes right back to the return line with no fpr at all.

the engine is trying to run its just not getting fuel and from what i learned about fuel systems last week in auto class im guessing its the absence of the fpr causing this.

Rock the one off your single cam in the meantime. The bend will be in a different angle so just use a longer fuel injection hose.

Um, wow. Never seen that before. Yea, that car was setup for an external FPR but apparently you never got one? Where does that hose lead to that comes out of the back of the fuel rail? If it goes to that line by the fuel filter, you just found your problem, you have no fuel pressure.

yea i guess the last guy that had it didnt give me the fpr with it lol

the line routed strait back to the return

i took the one of my old ka for now and it got it to run. idk how well it will work yet just cause i olny needed to see if it would start on its own tonight.

i plan on getting the circuit sports fpr with the gauge soon though.

but bottom line is i got my motor started and it runs so smooth. i love it already. i cant wait to drive it

Get the NISMO regulator. Most external regulators are junk. And actually, there's really nothing wrong with your KA regulator, except that it might keep the fuel pressure too high. IDK what base fuel pressure for a SOHC KA is. If it's around 36psi, I'd just keep using the one you've got on there now.

BUMP for new question.

so ive searched and searched and searched and googled. but i cant find the info i need

im not sure if these are water lines, oil lines, or both.

im talking about the lines under the intake manifold and around the oil filter. if anyone has a full side picture of how all the lines connect that would help so much
