I'm certain my fuel rail is toasted. I have looked for aftermarket with not much luck.

Will a CA18DE from pulsar work?

Are there any aftermarket options?

How much does custom usually go for?

Anyone have a GOOD condition one, visually verifying the condition of the o-ring bores? I will put pics up later of my toasted bores.

I have looked at these bores under a microscope and there is wear/corrosion of the coating, with the naked eye it is still detectable and very nasty looking, more evident on #1 and #2 cylinders which explains there leaking and not 3,4. I have never looked into upgrading injectors, but at this point upgrading the injectors and boring the fuel rail seems like a good option.

Any input welcome, this has been the longest headgasket / fpr swap ever.

Thanks

Swedish Mike was offering aftermarket ones. It was awhile ago though but you might want to try and see if he can still get them.

Fuel rail stock is pretty cheap from Summit Racing, so you could always make your own.

What about boring the holes out a little larger for bigger injectors? This seems like the best option to me, plus i get new injectors = )

As far as replacement injectors, how could i find these. All I really need is same pintle cap size, *near* same height, and a slightly larger top feed o-ring.

Any ideas?

nah dont make it more confusing than it has to be.

what type of injectors do you have for upgrades?

if they fit a stock rail (i.e rail doesnt need oversize) grab that rail from gabby, prep it, paint it, seeend iiit.

both my CA18s injector o-rings leaked fuel onto the intake.OE o-rings are skinny. I tried a bunch of other(common) injectors/o-rings that were all too big for the CA fuel rail. Local nissan had no o-rings in stock.Only the FC rx7 injectors/o-ring fit the ca18 rail iirc.

next lap I'll probably hone out holes with my sanding roll, to fit something easier to find. Plenty of meat there. I'll match the 'fit'(resistance) of the injector/o-ring in their original hole

precisley ^ I'll share my story.

OE pintal donuts that are located on the end of the injector in the secondary intake tract are not meaty enough. Its far from a tight fit, and when the pintal end gets squeezed in, its not much better.

I had reamed my rail for Venoms, removed them and replaced with Sard, and I did just what you did, got a bunch of O-rings from other applications and used what fit best.

What I also did, was wedge an extra donut onto the pintal end, so when the rail gets tightened down, the upper donut above the injector clip, beneath the o-ring that fits into rail, became smooshed so to speak ensuring a good seal. It also expands the pintal end donut in the plenum nicely, which would otherwise likely leak.

Hope that all makes sense, its all there just read it slow.

ok so instead of getting new injectors with larger diameter inlets, i can just get my rail modified to be barely larger, but smoother, and find some fatter orings?

on a side note, i also just want new injectors for the future. does anyone know of injectors that will fit (same pintle diamter, minimum pintle length, and overall injector height) yet have a larger diameter inlet to accommodate my now larger fuel rail bores?

Bore out the hole slightly and use DSM O-rings if you need because they are a little larger. Oh and when you replaced your o-rings, you used engine oil on them right? Engine oil expands the O-rings thus ensuring a good seal. Do not spin your injectors around after you put them in also. If not, try rolling some sand paper up and spinning them to remove the corrosion then using new o-rings in them.

One mistake I made was spinning them after installation. It was difficult to move them and I'm sure this didn't help the fuel rail situation. I have DSM o-rings now but I think the rail is beyond using in it's current condition.

Anyone got an additional fuel rail ?

Throw some pictures up(and use the macro button for closeups to prevent blurriness! It's the symbol with the flower). I'm sure you can bore out the housing and even use BMW E30 o-rings. Those mofos are crazy thick. I had some rail issues and I tried using those but their OD is way big. The DSM o-rings are perfect for a slight bore on the 18det fuel rail. Look into CA18DE rail and try to find the differences. I'm not sure how or if they differ. But anyway, get some pictures to assess the situation.

I don't know what you did to the rail but it shouldn't be chewing O-rings as long as you use a little bit of oil or vaseline to help the injector slide in.

If it is bad then just grab the rail from Gaby. I got my O-rings from a random Hardware store, and trust me it can not be worse than were I live looking for parts, so just go to Homedepot or such with the rail and 1 of the injector to test the o-ring that fits the best.

thanks for all the suggestions team, this is the first issue i've encountered that it has taken some thought on which route to go.

I will put pics up, I have looked at it with a magnifier and a microscope and it's not too pretty. It looks like since there are no injector suggestions that alot of injectors have the same inlet diameters, however this can be countered with different o-rings.

I will put pics up soon. I want to drive my car!

cram the injector in theya with an extra pintal donut, or extra feed donut and your issues should dissolve.
