Ok so my fuel rail is leaking and its tightened down as far as it can go. I don't know what the prob is but its leaking on the 1st injector and a lil bit on the second one. I was thinking a shim on the screw that holds it down would push it farther down or some type of rubber seal on the injector would stop the leak. Its a greddy fuel rail w/ 370cc injectors, the stuff that came in the greddy kit. any advice would be appreciated because I don't want to screw anything up by doing something stupid and spending more money then I would need to. Thanks

any one have any Ideas? Would the shims be a bad Idea? I don't know what would cause the rail to just start leaking. Is there a seal on top of the injector? could that be bad? why would it leak on both 1 and 2 injecotrs tho if its just the seal on the one. I'm lost for Ideas so any help or Ideas would be greatly valued. Thanks

hum. all i could say is pull the rail off and make sure all your seals are clean... a spec of sand (or wehatever could most likely cuase a leak.) and check for any burs of metal on the rail itself.

ahh, welcome to one of my nightmares. I had the hardest time getting my JWT rail to seal with the injectors properly. I would tighten it down slowly, do it as evenly as possible, and fuel would still spray or dribble out of at least one injector. I found that after fiddling with it forever there WAS a tightening sequence that seemed to work, but every once in a while it would start doing it again. I ended up making new brackets for the JWT rail (the L shaped ones), and the injectors sealed up fine then... although I did eventually switch to the Phat KA-T rail anyways because I didnt trust the injectors to never leak again. (the Phat KA-T rail sealed perfectly the first time btw)

Check your o-rings though, the ones on the top that go into the rail. Even a small chip in the ring can cause huge leakages. Id reccomend just replacing all of them, a box of 8 is like 3 bucks at any local auto parts store - just bring one o-ring down for them to match. When you install them, dab some dielectric silicone grease on each ring so that they slide into the rail smoothly and dont chip or fray again.

Yeah I have no Idea how it got like this because I never had a prob b4. It was the top seal and I'm betting that It just looked like the #2 injector looked like it was leaking from gas running down the rail. I'll fix it tonight or tomarrow cuz I got to leave soon and go visit mommy for mothers day. Oh well glad I caught this b4 there was a fire or worse ran w/o fuel.

So I went to every auto parts store and not one could help me even with the O-ring, they all keep telling me that without the make and model of the car they can't do anything for me. Then I told them that If there 2 lazy to look through the **** in the back to find a suitable on the I would look, well that got me nowhere, So I bought the Value pack of tons of sizes and not one will seal against the fuel rail. Is there anywhere to order these things online since no one around here seems to know how to hold a o-ring up to another one and see if it is the same size, I looked on line and didn't seem to find anything. any help would be greatly apreaciated(sp). Or the make and model of a car with simalar injectors or the same. or If anyone knows what injectors greedy (Greddy) uses let me know cuz I couldn't find it out

yeah auto zone sucks and I know there are some back there that there to lazy to look for. aprently there to dumb to hold up 2 peices of ruber and see if there the same size and It wasn't like it woulda been faster if they had just looked woulda got me out of there faster, instead they just sit there all tell me about how they can't do anything if there computer doesn't tell them to do it. I have never run into such dumb people untill I started going to auto zone, I would think that would be such an easy job and you could sit back there and d!ck around if you didn't feel like working. arrrrrr I'm sorry bout the rant

haha I know how it is... I went to a few places till I actually found the rings as well. It really helps to know people who work at parts stores, after all the times I've gone to Advance Auto with odd requests like this one I've made friends with the guys who work there... now they let me just walk behind the counter and find what I need haha.

If you really cant find the rings, I'm sure I can get a set here... or at least find a part number for ya-- that should make things easier.

Try going to more local-type places, not a chain store. Usually the locals have people working who actually know and care about cars, rather than chain stores where employess pretty much know how to use a computer and thats it.

I also had problems getting o rings. Advanced Auto parts here told me I was getting a set(two O rings for each injector). When i got them, all I got was two top O rings. I was like whatever and just ordered from this website.

They are great for stuff like that. I got them super quick too. I love that site for OEM stuff.

Yeah I actualy started talking to a guy at a local parts store who went out of his way to help me but didn't have the o-ring so he called up a local shop, I don't know if the o-ring fits yet but its as close as you can get to the greddy one IMO, yeah I don't know why I didn't go to local shops where there are car guys and I did actualy find someone who understood what I was going through. That and the guy who had them was super rad and only charged me 2 bux for 4 of them, lets just hope there wasn't any engine damage done

o-rings fit, except in the process of replacing the first one I f-ed up the #3 injector and replaced that one (the o-ring).Then started er up and there is a funny tick noise that I never noticed and don't think it is a new noise, It goes away as soon as it changes revs ie I reved the engine it didn't get warm cuz I shut it off cuz it needs to air out all the gas and I was hungry as a mofo and needed to start dinner I'll go out after diner and give er a test run maybe even stop at my parents and raid the fridge and grab a there digi and snap some pics if the car is still looking ok after all the rain oh yeah rain+new diff + bald tires= no traction

Edit: Runs good as ever now to get some new tires that arn't bald
